PMLN PDM meet IMF demands and Lahore courts stuck down the implementation of demands. For example, today energy surcharges per IMF demand were stuck down by the Lahore court in the public interest. Lahore court advised the govt to utilize solar energy and ordered Govt to give subsidiaries for up to 500 units. First, it is strange why the Lahore court advises using Solar energy. And now our courts give economic policy. PMLN is playing a dirty game with IMF behind the scene. Same situation in the Sindh court. IMF also raised questions about FIA and NAB role in curtailing corruption.

Watch from the 11th minute. An important detail about IMF demands.

So, Pakistan's courts usurp legislative and executive functions along with judiciary. I think this shows Pakistan's Constitutional infirmity. The courts are not likely citing any statute or case law. Probably, there is no plaintiff either. The whole system reeks of a large mental institution.

I am certainly not a PDM supporter - but what the hell are Courts doing getting themselves involved in Executive constitutional roles.
Court has no standing to pass such judgements. Our entire system is so messed up and mediocre that each constitutional org has no sense of their role and balance. These overreaches are nuts, and you see them everywhere in all branches of government.

The government should simply say this is not a constitutional order and executive privilege does not allow them to give courts any jurisdiction over matters such as these. They should file an appeal not on the merits of this order, but the constitutionality of this order.

Did the 2008 financial crisis not act as a warning the good times could end any moment? That the money won't keep flowing without any conditions and checks?

I am sure these jahil zardari and sharif families didn't consider this and expected IMF to keep giving them money. Their kids watched their parents take 30% from these loans and they want to do the same.

That's why Maryum is running around like a tyrant having people killed and imprisoned, they are worse than their parents. Petulant children of corrupts.

When Pakistan needs to have seasoned and effective business leaders and economists running the country and rebuilding the economy, we have these jahil families who have absolutely no idea how to run a country. They have been running the show for the last 50 years with loans.

Genuine demands. Its a shame that foreign fund has to tell these things. Privatization is a must.

There is no way Pakistan can afford to feed loss making govt-run enterprises forever. All those entities have thousands and thousands of political inductees. Why ordinary tax payer citizen has to carry weight for these loss making organizations.

Remember the SC decision under Ifthihar Chaudhry to cancel the PSM privitization deal back in 2006???

Well since then Pakistan has spent over 10+ bn USD in just attempting to keep that shitty mill afloat. Yet no one is held accountable to this day.

This financial crisis is of international interest. Last time a large country had this type of financial crisis was in 1998 (Russia). It had important political consequences. Russia ended democratic elections and Putin became the new Prime Minister and later President for life.

How the heck can court pass executive orders or block them?
When the legislature and executive become atrophied, judiciary enters in to fill the vacuum. Better the judiciary than the military. At least they don't have guns, though they may wear funny clothes.

What makes you think courts in Pakistan ever do their job?

If the courts actually gave a damn about the law, more than half of this country's problems will solve in 1 week.

sab mili bhagat hai boss. These judges are PDM's lackeys and fauj's puppies. They are striking these orders down on the govt's advice I can bet. So that these mongoloids can go to the IMF and say "see, we tried but the courts wont let us :) "

However, the idiots that they are, they dont realize that this will never work.
