ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan said on Saturday that an independent commission should investigate Jang/Geo group head Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman’s finances, alleging that the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) and Mir Shakil are co-conspirators. He said the pharaoh is sitting in Dubai while people are dying in Pakistan, Dunya News reported.

Addressing press conference after core committee meeting here in Islamabad, Imran Khan alleged that Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman Foundation has received one billion rupees in foreign funding. He went on to allege that Geo TV took money from United States (US) State Department along with billions in donation for ‘Aman Ki Asha’ campaign.
He alleged that Geo TV has no editorial policy, adding that campaigns are run without any checks. He said that Mir Shakil is maligning the country for personal gains.
He claimed that PMLN and Mir Shakil act together, adding that the pharaoh is sitting in Dubai while people are dying in Pakistan.
PTI Chief alleged that Mir Shakil protects his interests through the help of his media house and that Mir Shakil scares off anyone who tries to speak up against him.
He alleged that Mir Shakil controls Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) through the help of PMLN government and that Mir Shakil pressured the government to get PEMRA chairman outed from his position.
Khan said that no nation allows its media group to take money from outside. He alleged that Mir Shakil owes Sindh Revenue Board a sum of rupees 180 crore, while being a ‘king-maker’ in Pakistan.
He reiterated that Jang/Geo group’s sports channel Geo Super acquired broadcasting rights through illegal means, and that Najam Sethi was rewarded with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairmanship for inflicting ’35 punctures’ in electoral process.
He said that Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief was put to media trial only after an assumption. He said that Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman stooped low by personally attacking him and his family.
Imran Khan appealed the nation to boycott Geo/Jang group. He challenged Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman for a debate, saying that Shakil-ur-Rahman cannot face him.
Imran Khan said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has put forth certain demands; apologize to Imran Khan for smear campaign against him and his family, apologize to the nation for broadcasting blasphemous content and Mir Shakil’s bank accounts be investigated.
He said that his struggle is for a new Pakistan and that he would continue his efforts.

TEXILA: Federal minister for Regional affairs Sardar Yousuf has said that the program aired on Geo TV has hurt public feelings and the offence is unforgivable.

Talking to media in Texila, Sardar Yousuf said the PEMRA rules needed to change and the ‘Ulma’ should be included across the board to deal the religious issues.

Sardar Yousuf added that the Morning show aired on Geo tv hurt the public sentiments badly, which is highly condemned and the crime can never be forgiven.

@ Aeronaut you took words from my mouth and reflections from my mind, resting since 40 odd years.And little before that his father, the pulp pimp Mir Khalil tried to buy progressive papers of Mian Iftikhar ,which included Imroze,Pakistan Times and Lail-o-Nehar,which were edited by respected personalities like Faiz,Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi and Mazher Ali.But Ayub khan/Bhutto sold it to Ahmed Daoud of Karachi.I am 100% sure there were considerable number of people who came over with the intentions of demolishing the Two Nation concept of IQBAL(ra) and whatever else it encompassed.
