ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday initiated investigations against the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Muqam, for the accumulation of wealth beyond his known sources of income.

The decision to authorise the investigation was made in a NAB meeting presided over by NAB chairman retired Justice Javed Iqbal.

The he NAB spokesman said in an official press release that the meeting held at the NAB headquarters had authorised four new inquiries. Mr Muqam, Maulana Amir Zaman, Abdul Malik Kakar and Peshawar District Nazim Asim Khan will all be investigated for allegedly amassing assets beyond their declared sources of income.

Justice Iqbal directed NAB’s KP director general to verify allegations against Mr Muqam. The ruling party in the province, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), had also accused the ex-MNA of being involved in massive financial corruption over the last 15 years and had requested NAB to launch a probe.

The PTI had claimed that Ameer Muqam had managed to embezzle millions of rupees every year during the last 10 years while overseeing the construction of the Swat-Bisham road. The PTI alleged that instead of working to develop the deprived district, the provincial PML-N president had made mansions for himself in every city of the country.

Almost all the top leadership of the PML-N is currently under investigation on corruption charges, including ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.

Presiding over another meeting, the NAB chairman authorised Balochistan NAB director general to verify a complaint against MNA Maulana Ameer Zaman for the alleged misappropriation of development funds and amassing wealth beyond his means. He was also asked to investigate complaints against Balochistan MPA Abdul Malik Kakar for embezzling development funds.

In addition to the probes in Balochistan, the NAB chief instructed the NAB director general in KP to investigate allegations against Peshawar District Nazim Mohammed Asim Khan for misuse of funds and distributing money among loyal employees without fulfilling legal requirements.

Tell me single politician who isn't rich in Pakistan. Why NAB is only going after N league members from FATA to Karachi? It shows haramkhor army is getting involved in politics again. Their fat belly isn't getting filled like it used to happen in dictator era when America used to give billions.

Army need to get on back to secure Pakistan from terrorist, fence border and deport afghanis. Leave rest to politicians. Cut army budget by 40%.

because current Govt of pakistan does not prefer hydel and cheap electricity even KPK is ready to transfer almost 350MW hydel to mainstream but federal Govt has been denying it for long time and busy for getting kickbacks to import LNG and Oil even for electricity too.
PMLN is fooling entire nation that they eradicated the load shadding balah balah. But the reality is that PMLN had paid 500+ arabs rupies to the IPPs.. And PMLN are also involved in corruption and money lundering with IPPs.

Pakistan electricity system depands on oil and gas specially during summar.
And right now pakistan circular debt is 1000 Arab Rupess which pakistan has to pay back to oil and gas industries those are now asking the payment from electricity industries of pakistan KESC, wapda and from 42 independent power producers (IPPs) that contribute significantly in electricity generation in Pakistan. So that Oil and gass industries would provide Oil and gas to the electricity industries of pakistan if pakistan govt pay back the circular debt.

• Well the Question should be asked that why our electricity industries and IPPs are unable to pay back although there is no subsidy for electicity by the Govt now? Simple they all are involved in corruption and money lundering and they are one of the biggest source of lossing arround 10 billions dollor yearly of pakistan.

Now what is the solution?
As we know KSA and iran economy mostly based on Oil However pakistan and india economy based on Water.. Believe me there is no solution until unless pakistan does not build the dams. Nearly 3500 major / medium dams and barrages had been constructed in India by the year 2018.
And almost 7 thousands dams in china too.

If pakistan does not emphasize on water based economy that means pakistan cant be a more productive in aggriculture, industries etc anymore.

So let me get this straight, you don't want N-League members to be prosecuted, instead just prosecute members of other parties and members of the armed forces only. Is that correct?
