PESHAWAR: Banned militant organisation Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Wednesday took responsibility for the killing of Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz's (PML-N) Peshawar chapter President Haji Sardar Khan.
He was shot dead in Yakotot area of Peshawar.
TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani had declared PML-N to be on its hit list after the Awami National Party (ANP).
Targeting PML-N members is a first-ever move by the banned organisation as previously PPP and ANP leaders were on the TTP's hit list.
PPP and ANP were not allowed to campaign freely in the 2013 general elections. Several party leaders were targeted in the run-off to the elections.
