PML-N decides to hold LG elections in Punjab before November

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Saturday decided to hold Local Government (LG) elections in Punjab before November 2013 while reviewing to amend the local government ordinance of 2002, Geo News reported

The sources of PML-N told the Geo News correspondent that the LG elections is likely to be held in Punjab in October, while the date of election would be announced soon

The sources further said that the administration and financial powers would be transferred to elected representatives in districts.

The party was also reviewing to give representation to the technocrats, Minorities, youth, women, farmers and labors in the LG system, it added.
