ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has invited Qatar’s petroleum and gas companies to invest in Pakistan’s oil and gas exploration and production sector.

While speaking to Sheikh Falah Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al-Thani, Chairman Board of Directors of Doha Group, the prime minister said Pakistan’s vibrant economic sector offers an investment friendly environment to Qatar’s investors.

He said Qatar is a major player in the world energy market, especially in the export of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), and Pakistan will welcome cooperation with Doha in the energy sector.

He said both the countries had great potential to increase the existing level of bilateral trade. “We wish to promote, diversify and strengthen relations in all fields of our bilateral relations,” the PM added. He said Pakistan attaches great importance to its close and cordial relations with Qatar and values its contribution to regional peace and stability.

Deepening ties: PM asks Qatar companies to invest in Pakistan – The Express Tribune

The young ruler is putting a lot of weight just like his father. Qataris have frozen Pakistani visas at less than 60,000, even while number of Indians has been increasing steadily. In conjunction with investment, our PM should ask Qataris to invest in Pakistan, we should ask them to allow more visas for Pakistani workers.

Just so everyone knows, Qatar is spending $140 billion on infrastructure for the football world cup.

Qataris are smart, very smart, smarter than Saudis, abu Dhabi and Dubai.

I just came across a book
Qatar: Small State, Big Politics: Mehran Kamrava: 9780801452093: Amazon.com: Books

you can get some insight from here

Based on my understanding (and I could be wrong) they do at least 2 kinds of invesments.

1. Finance Mullahs and Islamists for their "religious return on investment"
2. Finance EU, China, and USA for their "financial return on investment".

Pakistanis should ask ourselves.

What kind of environment have we created in our beautiful country.

And you better know that Qataris are already investing.

Just open your eyes.

Thank you.
