First question in my mind..
What procedures would be applied to bring back the looted or black money to pakistan ?

Well there are many loop holes in current system, first those loop holes should be filled with constitution and laws.. I mean first attempt should be stopped money lundering.. Then talk about bring back the money .

If we cant overcome the loop holes first then there is no doubt this amensty scheme would be a disastor for pakistan.

Amnesty scheme will have positive effects: Miftah Ismail

ISLAMABAD: The one-time tax amnesty scheme will have positive effects on the country, said Miftah Ismail, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance.

“We have tried to make matters easy with the amnesty scheme,” he said.

Answering a question, Ismail said that people who have been named in the Panama Papers will be able to avail benefit from the amnesty scheme, provided their wealth was legal.

Miftah Ismail said that the government would sell bonds to those who possessed dollars abroad.

“The government would provide profit to those who will be sold dollar bonds,” he said.

He said that the government was obtaining data from NADRA to take action against tax evaders.

“FBR knows fully well how many cars does one have or how much wealth one possesses,” he said in an interview with SAMAA anchor Nadeem Malik Live.

He said that citizens who brought in a sum exceeding Rs 10 million will have to provide their source of income.

Miftah Ismail said that the government aimed to decrease current account’s loss by increasing exports.

“Exports are increasing. They were declining since the past three years,” he said.

He said that before the current government’s tenure ends, he would try to being the budget deficit down to 5.3 per cent.

Miftah Ismail said that citizens will only be answerable to the FBR.

This last paragraph is also confusing all the citizens (money lunderer ) OR people who have been named in the Panama Papers those would use this amensty scheme will only be answerable to the FBR ? NOT judiciary or NAB ?

kindly help... the amensty scheme only for overseas pakistanis OR for all the citizen of pakistan those are currently living in pakistan ?

If amnesty scheme only for overseas pakistanis. Then i think it's good.. Because only remittance cant do the trick. Overseas pakistani can have chance to bring back their all money by paying just 2%.. That means not only 2% but other amount of individual can be in pakistan.

Note: they are saying that political elites can not get the benefits of this amnesty scheme. But there is no doubt that they can utilize other non-political actors. So the only solution is: first attempt should be to stop money lundering.. Then talk about bring back the money .
