A great achievement!!! Incorporate IED jammers!! The Turkish MRAPs with jammers have been reported to have waked around 5K lives so far!!! They're being extensively used for COIN inside Syria and Irak too!!! I hop Pak includes them in large numbers...

i am sorry to burst your wish pakistani generals dont have brain to make this important procurement if they did they could have got them when they really needed them which was at least 5 to 6 years ago minimum. all they want is big show boating items to make them self look the GREAT GENERALS

It is discussed many times that Pak Army is huge in strength and requirements are also high. The budget is no doubt on higher side but most part going in efforts against terrorism and that to get even ordinary field weapons. The US and other world powers are not helping Pak as they should. The fact remains that PA needs lot of funds even to fix some sort of light armor on thousands of field vehicles and people here are advising them to get hundreds of Mraps and other heavily armored vehicles. Most of these Mraps and heavy vehicles are not useful in populous areas of Pakistan. These vehicles are useful in fields and moutaneous terrains where population is scarce.

The logical step is to make our ordinary field trucks and jeeps lightly armored along with steel plates welded in floor to sustain IED blasts.
Pakistan is the leading country where military personnel losses of high ranking officers are highest in the world. What could or should have been done 5-6 Years is easy to say but not practical. It is amazing thing that even Pak police people now have bullet proof vests let alone the Army/Rangers.
The IA on other hand with high budget still struggling to provide proper equipment to its soldiers.

How you can blame blindly the generals for every thing, may be the positive criticism is good but not in negative tone without checking ground realities.

Pakistan is not a master estate like Israel from USA or Egypt reaping benefits of sectarian war from KSA.

Its a HMG.... and an overkill on an armoured vehicle... a PK16 or similiar HMG would be perfect for that role... apart from the fact that we even put 12 and 14mm HMGs on regular un-armored pickups..

Not a CANON... Which are much more effective against APCS/IFVs/Tanks.

14mm russian is actaully larger than .50 bmg

30mm is overkill, 14.5 Russian is right calibre.
