Chinese man plays piano with his...toes?
Chinese man plays piano with his...toes? | EW.com
A 23-year-old man from China is making headlines with his unique style of piano playing. Liu Wei, who lost both of his arms to amputation after a childhood accident, plays the ivory keys with his toes. His toes! Were talking legitimate music-making with each of his little piggies! (All my toes do is run into coffee tables. My life is average.)
Wei first garnered attention after he appeared on Chinas Got Talent earlier this month and blew the audience away. After his performance, he received a well-deserved standing ovation. My jaw dropped open for a good 10 seconds after watching him, which is the office cubicle equivalent of a standing ovation. Wei, who started playing the piano with his feet in his late teens, told the Associated Press that nobody ever decreed that to play the piano you must use your hands. True. But its also not an everyday occurrence to see a man make beautiful music with his toes. How is that even possible? In addition to playing the piano, he uses his feet to do pretty much everything else, including brushing his teeth. Its a pretty impressive story, and I always love a good overcoming-the-odds piece. Impressed, PopWatchers? And can you do anything cool with your feet? (And walking doesnt count.)
