What's new

Planet India (screenshots from my collection)

Well, you seem to be an otherwise nice person, you supported me in that Infosys thread, so I will ask you to spend more time on the forum and be open to different kinds of threads. :) I as an Indian Communist have been allowed to make threads about things like a progressive Kashmir solution or a new economic proposal. And I have made my own opposite-view points to those certain Pak members you mention. Though yes, I have received warnings and post-deletes sometimes.

This thread is about the wrong type of Indians being everywhere on the internet. This gives India a bad name. The sensible type of Indians should present to the international audience ( example, as represented on PDF ) the idea that such Indians don't like what is going on in their country and to speak at least that they are embarrassed by the garbage.
there is no wrong type of Indians (only), thats what i was trying to point out . There are people from all nation.Go to any one of the 'chans' site & see trash from all over the world. Internet trolls and memes doesnot mean anything. I don`t even take Pakistanis or any false flagger like OP's opinion seriously. Pakistanis take great pride in white validation. They even try to speak in their accents.(funny). One tweet from any random white guy and you see 10s of thread popping up here. Who cares about their opinion and when i said who, i meant both the white people and the pakistanis. Making a point in internet is useless, it doesnot changes anyones life even a tiny -winy bit. GN man. i m out of here.

You know, some 10-12 years ago,I thought Indians were the "ok" guys and Pakistanis the culprits. I thought ok,Indians can be cool,we see them on TV in American movies and sitcoms,it's ok. Sikhs are cool. Hindus, well ok weird, but then again Pakistanis were super-conservative and all.

Then I started talking to Indians on FB and saw countless comments on FB groups,on youtube,on the internet in general. And of course there's a lot of dumb greeks making stupid comments online too, just like pakistanis and turks and almost any nation. And I know there are many smart, educated and good people in India.
But the amount of dumb people using the internet there,it's just...
It's like millions of village people go online and try to talk.
Pakistan's ideological or existential purpose props up Hindutva [two nation theory].

You know what I understood about Indians is that, they may call you brother, say they love your country, talk about friendship and everything, but as soon as you criticize something about their country or culture, anything at all, even if you are right, they will go berserk. They will forget "friendship" and "brotherhood" and all that. I've seen it happen a lot of times online.

they have very low self esteem, if you looked like an Indian then you would too

Even if @Foinikas is "jobless" he is right about this. Most Indians on the internet are idiots and many of them may have five college degrees but they are not educated in the real sense. Their sense of history of India especially is borrowed from their deluded community elders who believe in exaggerated mythology ( "Indian" civilization of thousands of years old ) and because these internet Indians are not educated and empathetic they don't care about real issues especially in India that are the result of their elders legitimizing and continuing them.

Look at some PDF Indians. It has been so many times I have spoken here of socio-economic injustices in India like the mass suicides of 300,000+ Indian farmers just between 1995 and 2017 because of India's 3000-year-old extremely Capitalist socio-economic system. These members either ignore my pointing out or do a Haha react. What kind of people are these ?

We must acknowledge.
I know what you are trying to say here but it's coming of as more emotive than objective. There is more than enough intelligentia within the country to bear the load of these idiots and continue pushing us forward. The tonality of the masses on the internet will improve, but observing this would like watching paint dry. Time lagega dost, patience.

1. I agree that there is enough intelligentsia but the idiots are in high places too. Look at former DRDO chief, VK Saraswat and his comrades :
VIBHA's advisory board includes Vijay Kumar Saraswat, former head of Indian defense research and now chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University here. The former chairs of India's Space Commission and its Atomic Energy Commission are VIBHA "patrons." Structural biologist Shekhar Mande, director-general of CSIR, is VIBHA's vice president.

Saraswat—who says he firmly believes in the power of gemstones to influence wellbeing and destiny—is proud of the achievements of ancient Hindu science: "We should rediscover Indian systems which existed thousands of years back," he says. Mande shares that pride. "We are a race which is not inferior to any other race in the world," he says. "Great things have happened in this part of the world." Mande insists that VIBHA is not antiscientific, however: "We want to tell people you have to be rational in your life and not believe in irrational myths." He does not see a rise of pseudoscience in the past 4 years—"We have always had that"—and says part of the problem is that the press is now paying more attention to the occasional bizarre claim. "If journalists don't report it, actually that would be perfect," he says.
And what is VIBHA ? :
New Delhi—The most widely discussed talk at the Indian Science Congress, a government-funded annual jamboree held in Jalandhar in January, wasn't about space exploration or information technology, areas in which India has made rapid progress. Instead, the talk celebrated a story in the Hindu epic Mahabharata about a woman who gave birth to 100 children, citing it as evidence that India's ancient Hindu civilization had developed advanced reproductive technologies. Just as surprising as the claim was the distinguished pedigree of the scientist who made it: chemist G. Nageshwar Rao, vice-chancellor of Andhra University in Visakhapatnam. "Stem cell research was done in this country thousands of years ago," Rao said.

His talk was widely met with ridicule. But Rao is hardly the only Indian scientist to make such claims. In recent years, "experts" have said ancient Indians had spacecraft, the internet, and nuclear weapons—long before Western science came on the scene.

Such claims and other forms of pseudoscience rooted in Hindu nationalism have been on the rise since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014. They're not just an embarrassment, some researchers say, but a threat to science and education that stifles critical thinking and could hamper India's development. "Modi has initiated what may be called ‘Project Assault on Scientific Rationality,'" says Gauhar Raza, former chief scientist at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) here, a conglomerate of almost 40 national labs. "A religio-mythical culture is being propagated in the country's scientific institutions aggressively."

Some blame the rapid rise at least in part on Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), the science wing of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), a massive conservative movement that aims to turn India into a Hindu nation and is the ideological parent of Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party. VIBHA aims to educate the masses about science and technology and harness research to stimulate India's development, but it also promotes "Swadeshi" (indigenous) science and tries to connect modern science to traditional knowledge and Hindu spirituality.

VIBHA receives generous government funding and is active in 23 of India's 29 states, organizing huge science fairs and other events; it has 20,000 so-called "team members" to spread its ideas and 100,000 volunteers—including many in the highest echelons of Indian science.
How to tackle these high-placed ones and take us forward ? These people provide cover to the fanatics on the ground and online. I dearly wish for a substantial Indian Mars colony ( or even an Eastern and Global Southern one ) by 2035 and which will operate on progressive political and social lines but it will take radical pushing forward to achieve that.

2. Below is my thread from some days ago about Swara Bhasker who was trolled because she questioned the Hindutvadis who were talking about the Taliban takeover but were not questioning themselves :

3. Tomorrow ( the 5th September ) will be the anniversary of progressive journalist Gauri Lankesh's assassination in 2017. Neither the central government nor Karnataka's state government is holding a remembrance event.

The tonality of the masses on the internet will improve, but observing this would like watching paint dry. Time lagega dost, patience.

Agree. But I will sign-off by saying that on PDF at least many of those poisonous types being banned has been good. Allows for the sensible Indians to discuss with logic and rationality.

Not if you are from Israel.

irony is afghans calling Pakistan a failed state, mate their country is atleast 160 years away from being close to any south Asian country, forget any western country

I think the last post was lifted straight from the "little RSS Hindutva book of fun facts" as given out to RSS bhakt people.

Sad when millions of these RSS Hindutva undereducated folks from India's cow-belt BIMARU states are working in Muslim countries (especially the gulf), which they are openly betraying here. India runs of remittance money and that does NOT come from Israel.

why should any one of us discuss Indian social issues here ?this platform is not the right place. If you have trouble with your wife, you dont go to neighbor house and talk about it, especially when the neighbor wants to see you separated.

We all need to know that there are sane people in India among the 1.4 Billion, unlike the noisy communal-fascists who are trying to attract all the attention, and in the process, dragging India's name through the mud.

"Phul shappooorttt Saar" did not stop as can be seen. Israel is their lone hope and savior for a lot of things (not least - just to teach Muslims a lesson).

dude seriously there were YouTube videos where they asked Pakistani if they would marry an Indian or not
most said no, than just watch these Indians filling up the comment section crying like madman, cursing, calling us racist, biggots or what not
I mean get a grip dude wtf

Well how will it...the supply of these type of unrefined BIMARU people is limitless, and the numbers increase every day. There is no conscious effort to teach these people internet or even social etiquette. They usually cheat their way into getting meaningless degrees in BIMARU institutions. Hindutva movement has unfortunately added fuel to their already reactionary and fiery goonda demeanor. Watching one bhojpuri film is proof enough of this culture. A popular one is "Mandir Wahi Banayenge" (We will build the temple there), i.e. referring to demolishing of mosques in BIMARU states. Muslims are the enemy now. Hero is wearing Hindutva garb and ready to fight! :p:

iu

Look at this from the Dept. of Secondary and Higher Education in Bangladesh, they are making a targeted curriculum to teach students the basics of Online and social media etiquette and some of it is enforceable by fines or even incarceration. Granted a lot of it is to ensure social harmony and prevent riots, but it has the basics covered. Like what to post, what are the basics and who not to offend. Sorry Bengali only.

Indeed!

I don't think Israelis in general are as interested to co-reproduce with Indians (there are always exceptions depending on people's station in life). There are plenty of pretty Indian women among the 750 Million in any case.

In fact I know that in almost all Israeli social clubs in India, Indian males are banned from entering. Too many horny grope incidents to Israeli women by uneducated unrefined Indian guys. The kind of Indian guys that walk in beaches in pairs locking each others pinkie fingers, ogling womens' cleavage.
