Hi,

Before the JF17 became fully operational---we all had biases---intentionally / purposefully / with or without prejudice /---some of it was pure bias and some of it was to confuse the enemy---and that---the enemy will have to judge---.

Now that the JF17's performance is out in the open---we find that it is not just the aircraft that is competing---it is a package of aircraft working as a team to make the operation a success.

So---we cannot just look at the performances of the aircrafts individually---. Because in modern warfare---individual performances would take a back seat and a better team effort will win.

So---based on that---team JF17 performance was above par---.
thank you sir for your kind reply

Kids don't understand sensor fusion.
JFT linked with AWACS,Ground based radars,SAM systems and other data collection sensors coupled with real time data exchange is a full defensive/offensive complex rather then a single aircraft.

Hi,

Both JF17 BLK2 and the F16 BLK 52 are a match to each other---. It was clearly stated by Air Marshal Shahid Latif.
What about AIM-120 vs SD-10. Also F-16 has a better engine and can carry more weaponary

PL-15 to be deployed, will talk as once materialized. Currently, it does not exist so wait till are had it in inventory. The news is already proven non-credible. We might see such deployment in future with Block-III but then again, let it fly first.

Regards,

China is reportedly set to supply the Pakistani Air Force with one of the most capable new air to air munitions deployed by the People’s Liberation Army Air Force - the PL-15. The missile deploys an active electronically scanned array radar, and is designed with high manoeuvrability and an extended ‘no escape range’ allowing it to reliably strike even highly manoeuvrable enemy combat aircraft at very long ranges. The sizeable missile is four meters long, and its dual thrust rocket motors allow it to engage targets up to 150km away - with some estimates placing its range considerably longer at around 200km.

Should the Pakistani Air Force acquire the PL-15, it would be the first outside China to deploy it and one of very few in the world with access to munitions of such a standard. While it was reported previously that the Sino-Pakistani JF-17 Block 3 ‘4+ generation’ fighter was potentially set to be equipped with the missile, which would complement its powerful active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar upon entering service in the early 2020s, recent reports indicate that some of Pakistan’s older JF-17 Block 2 fighters could be modified to deploy the missiles. Reports of the potential transfer of the missiles come one week after engagements between the Indian and Pakistani Air Forces in late February 2019. Indian reports from these clashes indicate that its Air Force’s Elite Su-30MKI air superiority fighter was able to evade multiple attacks by Pakistani AIM-120C-5 air to air missiles - likely using its advanced electronic warfare systems and super manoeuvrability to do so.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force has taken delivery of 100 PL-15 Long-Range Beyond Visual Range (BVR) Air-to-Air Missiles (AAMs) from China. The PL-15 can shoot down enemy aircraft at a distance of up to 300 km. The PL-15 was originally intended for PAF's future Block 3 JF-17s, but due tensions with India, will now be integrated on PAF's existing Block 2 JF-17s.

I think the missile in pic is Sd-10

It was delivered during Feb 26 or 27. Chinese delivered it.actually I thanked a Chinese member here for delivery.we knew it's bvr but not about pl-15. Fantastic news.it is clear that we received bvr but I don't know which bvr.

If this is real news, how does it change the dynamics of any further air battles? Realistically how capable is JF-17's radar for handling this ranged missile?

how would it be integrated on blk 2?
