How much money would be free up if all loss-making enterprises were either shuttered or sold? Should a country of 200 million suffer for the sake of a few thousand employees?

It’s not all about profit, some things are kept running even at loss because they are too important. Also, gov’t might have resources such that keeping employees outweighs cutting airline costs because paying employees is a multiplier that helps economy more than reducing PIA’s expenses.

Seriously whatever and whichever government dares to sell it off. We should support it. It would be the most unpopular move. It would wreak havoc. Huge protest.
But we have to let it go.
Now a days no country can afford the Burden of loss making enterprises.
Government cannot invest new money into it to modernize it, and has to sallow a bitter pill by paying billions every month.
Huge amount of political appointments, even after removal of lots of people, it still is over staffed.
Sailing it off or sailing half of its share with operations would be the only option.

I hope gov't will do something to fix PIA. Maybe IK will finally wake up and do something after PIA crash
