Nothing pathetic it is depends on threat perception and in case if it is happen in Pakistan driver could not stop the car instead he might be killed instantly.

Threat perception here is not seen by security, which is pathetic, coupled with the fact that security posse cannot catch the man.

No, in Pakistan, the cordon would tight enough, not giving this man a chance to break through.

Yes and I think they would even try to kill or hurt him!

During my patrol exercise in the army, I was responsible to carry the Radio-Set and walk always near the Company Commander (Hauptfeldwebel), secondly I was responsible for the Commanders security, because on patrol I should always walk maximum 2-3m away from him, I had the order always to load 2x Magazines (coupled magazines, fast loading) and shoot on full automatic (fast and deadly fire response). So Signallian is right the security is very lash, I would have fired in his direction, but it could be also that the president gives the order not kill him to save himself from apolitical debacel!

How Pakistani government security protocol would act ?^^
A man standing so close to road and motorcade would have already been scanned and if cleared by security, then perhaps allowed to stand so close. The cordon would never allow the motorcade to get stopped by a lone man jumping in front of cars.
If this man would have had a suicide-vest on, he would have blown up the motorcade to bits, so they would have shot him in the head as soon as he would have jumped on the road.

The Pakistani President and PM have the Mercedes S600Guard, which has VR-10 level protection. Besides being able to stop Armour Piercing bullets from Ak's, it can withstand bomb blasts as well (to a certain extent).

The protection detail, in other cars could become casualties depending on the level of protection they have, but the PM / President would be safe.

In the video you posted, the driver of the VIP vehicle failed, as well as the cars on either side.

The ideal maneuver would be for car on the left to speed up and neutralize the threat, if not possible, then the VIP car should have been given enough space, to dodge the threat, and speed out of the danger zone at full throttle, instead of slowing down, as this is the ideal opportunity to bomb the VIP car.

This is unacceptable from security point of view.

@Khafee @Ulla @django
Bro if that would have been a suicide bomber, then the President would have been Shish Kebab, did they not ask for extensive cordon security from local police prior to the VIP passing along the route and how the hell did the idiot know which car the President was moving in, were the windows not darkened, was their not a dummy in place to fool any attackers, truly appalling security.Kudos Signalian
