Civil Aviation announces airport guidelines for international arrivals, including flight crew.

Pakistan government announced new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all passengers and flight crew - arriving at international arrivals - as part of safety measures to contain the Covid-19 outbreak.

The regulations have been imposed with immediate effect under which international passengers and crew will be screened upon arrival. According to reports in ARY News, the SOPs state that the swab sample, however, will not be collected at the airport.

The international passengers and flight crew will be quarantined for 24 hours following which the swabs sample will be collected and sent for the Covid-19 test. In case any passenger or crew tests positive for the Covid-19 they will be treated at the designated quarantine facility.

The airport authorities will keep contact details and other information of all passengers and flight crew, including those who tested negative at the time of testing.

Pakistan has witnessed an increase in coronavirus cases with the latest figures reaching to 3,059 on Sunday. According to the national dashboard on coronavirus pandemic, 170 patients have recovered while 45 died.
