AS long as this doesnt pressure already existing Pakistani companies in to shutting their doors I would support this. It will create competition, and pressure to fund R&D.

The Pakistani Forces also have connections with outside organizations who can invest in joint projects etc.

Although, I don't understand Pakistani mentally of buying luxury cars when half the population is under the poverty line. When just a Suzuki would do.

None of the world have any sort of doubt that Pakistani Nation have got the "Talent" to accomplish any "Target" and Pakistani Youths are, too, capable for Inventing New things as well as making World Records in different fields of Life . . . . BUT all the Talents and Policies got a Full STOP mark, when it comes to Financial Resources . . . . !!!

According to IMF and World Bank's Reports, Pakistan's annual average groth ratio is 2.5, which is far from a required mark for any ambitious developing country of the world.

Funds, Budget and Financial Resources is the MAJOR hurdle for defence projects as well. for the same reason, I would suggest a NEW IDEA for the Managment of Pak Armed Forces, which is to establish its OWN source of budget-making and Fund-raising industry, which may be named as "PASBAN Group of Industries" . . . . !!!

This is a good thought. Wonder what the likes of Ayesha Siddiqa will think of it.

But Yes I believe the military needs to undertake economic projects in order to fuel its own growth.

Remember guys any kind of economic activity is good at this stage when the economy is largely stagnant. We need to have a GDP of 3%+ to produce new jobs in the country. Currently we aren't managing to even maintain the amount of jobs in the country. In fact we are in economic decline. The army should play a role to reverse this economic decline.

Writers have constantly attacked the militaries profit making enterprises and their vast control of resources and wealth but I believe they should undertake economic activities. A self-sufficient military is always a strong one.
