Parler CEO Mark Matze said today that his company have been dropped by virtually all of their business alliances after Amazon, Apple and Google ended their agreements with the social media service.

“Every vendor from text message services to email providers to our lawyers all ditched us too on the same day,” Matze said today on Fox News.

Matze conceded that the bans could put the company out of business while raising free speech issues, calling it “an assault on everybody.”

“They all work together to make sure at the same time we would lose access to not only our apps, but they’re actually shutting all of our servers off tonight, off the internet,” Matze said. “They made an attempt to not only kill the app, but to actually destroy the entire company. And it’s not just these three companies. Every vendor from text message services to email providers to our lawyers all ditched us too on the same day.”

The remarks come a day after Amazon dropped Parler from its servers, joining Apple and Google. They all cited the potential of spreading violent content on the site, which is favored by conservatives as an alternative to Twitter and Facebook.

Matze said that the services are unfairly targeting Parler. “They’re trying to falsely claim that we’re somehow responsible for the events that occurred on the 6th,” he said, the date of the Capitol building takeover by protesters.

“It would put anybody out of business,” he said of the tech bans. “This thing could destroy anybody.”

“We’re going to try our best to get back online as quickly as possible. But we’re having a lot of trouble because every vendor we talk to says they won’t work with us. Because if Apple doesn’t approve and Google doesn’t approve, they won’t.”

Exactly as I predicted: Government censorship outsourced to private corporations.

Get better and tighter moderation. Don’t let white nationalist scum and villainy Gather and plan attacks/Executions on government officials.

Including vice President pence, whom many were after to execute.

That would be a good start

Expect them to move to CB radio and other backup means of communications. They may also lash out at visible minorities. The next weeks and months will be very dangerous. Only when economic growth picks up again will many of these people be placated to refocus on economics.

Indians are starting to realize that China was right all along.

Idiots who were saying there is no freedom to access Facebook or Google in China, now look at these US Big Tech companies showing them what kind of power they hold. If US President can be silenced by these platforms, they can easily do that to every politicians from other countries, meddling with elections and what not. Now the idiots here can no longer justify pointing fingers at China banning some of these US social media for not complying to Chinese laws. These companies showed them literally they hold political powers, can apply censorship, delete politician's voice, meddle with foreign elections. Finally awake?

This may be a po.litical p.urge. Soft p.urge for now, but with potential for escalation if soft measures do not work.

@tower9

This doesn't bode well for the future. Trumpers aren't going anywhere. They will just go underground and probably become more violent. The political legitimacy of the American system will be undermined.

They can use Weibo.

Chinese censorship is harder than USA/Twitter. But I dont imagine chinese censors men with the dictionary english-mandarin translating every english message.

Or they can use VKontakte, Russia will never censor Trump and Trump fans.

The difference is that China is honest about what its doing. It doesn't pretend to value a limitless freedom of speech or media and use that as a cudgel to appear morally superior. The Chinese government and most Chinese citizens understand that heavy censorship is used to keep society stable and they accept that bargain.

Whereas in the US, the growing right wing is undermining the legitimacy of the system and now liberal democracy is facing an unprecedented threat and scaling back on the freedom of speech and media. This is justified by gaslighting and labeling anyone who supports Trump a near terrorist. This is how censorship in liberal democracies has always worked, you just smear anyone who threatens the system to the point that others are afraid to speak in support for them or their ideas. This is why the American system is very hypocritical and why virtue signaling is disgusting because it is very superficial and fake.

Essentially...

The Chinese people acknowledged that if they are guaranteed the level of freedoms and liberties Americans insisted to be 'universal', and perhaps Americans are wrong in that belief, that the Chinese people themselves would be the cause of social instability, and that it is better that the Chinese people are not given those freedoms and liberties, and that the Chinese people needs constant supervision and guidance from an authority at all times.

If you want to see it that way. The way most Chinese see it is as a realistic assessment of the constraints of having such a large population combined with the current stage of social development, while prioritizing the goals of rapid socio economic growth. When China achieves the HDI levels of Western countries, its system will likely evolve to afford more individual liberties although it will likely never adopt the model of liberal democracy.
