Paris Bastille Day Military Parade 2017

[Vergennes]

France is among the few countries in the Western world to organize military parades of this scale every years in the capital.
Several other parades (of a smaller scale) were also held in other French cities.

Some datas :

63 aircrafts : 49 from the French Air Force,6 from the French Navy and 8 from the US Air Force.
3,720 troops.
211 vehicles including 62 motorcycles . 241 horses
29 helicopters : 17 from the Army,5 from the Air Force,3 from the Navy,3 from the Gendarmerie and 1 from the Civil Security.

US troops were stunning.

For the closing animation of the parade,the army band, composed of several bodies, decided to play a small medley of the famous French electronic music group, Daft Punk, before resuming with "C'est la fête" of Michel Fugain. ;-)

oh im jealous, when it is happening, im most likely going to france of the 17h of august for a few days.

People are alway amazed and impressed when they see the Légionnaires parading,especially the pioneers with their long axes and their beards.

(For those that didn't know ) The Légionnaires march at 88 steps a minute (compared to 120 steps a minute for the other troops). This cadence is inherited from the rhythm of movement of the armies of the Ancien Régime and the Empire, including the Hohenlohe regiment, of which the FFL has preserved many traditions.
