Supreme Court summons SBP, SECP heads over nominees for Panama case JIT

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday summoned governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and chairman Securities and Exchange Commission Pakistan (SECP) over a list of nominees submitted for a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing into the Panamagate case.

A three-judge special bench headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan summoned SBP governor and SECP chairman along with a list of all grade 18 and above officials on Friday.

“We want people with diamond integrity”, Justice Ejaz observed. The special bench said all findings must be open and transparent.

“We will look at the list and will approve the names for the JIT,” Justice Azmat observed, adding that the bench will ensure all proceedings are conducted in an impartial and transparent manner.

Meanwhile Justice Ijazul Ahsen observed the court will not accept any excuse or delay in the proceedings. The hearing has been adjourned until Friday.

A three-judge special bench has been constituted to implement the Supreme Court’s April 20 judgment ordering a JIT to probe the offshore properties of the Sharif family.

The special bench constituted by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar comprises Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh and Justice Ijazul Ahsen.

tht I know.. Mujhe iss par aitraz nahi ke woh dono kiun nahi hain? Its logical....ke woh dono nahi...Bas waisy hi afsos horaha tha..ke unka safar khatam hogaya ...ye ghussay wala nahi.. Bas doosra wala afsos tha, loll .. I dont know how to explain tht, loll

Meanwhile, Maryam baji have disturbed the hornets nest by those tweets aimed at journalists involed in Panama leaks. They are truly dragging her through mud and providing documents online that can be damaging. If the suicide mood continues may be they will send all those to SC .
That was a stupid move by her and may well come back to haunt the entire family.
