No surprise. We also missed out on the boom of ship repair work happening in the Gulf due to a lack of capacity at KSEW. The investment in Gwadar et. al came too late. The fact that we couldn't go a step further and build our own freighters, merchant companies, etc to tap into the world trade market is not shocking.
I disagree with the last bit it is criminally shocking and very sad.
Well, what can we expect from 'leaders' who aren't even fit or qualified to work as security guards? Our leaders are experts in being bums, but nothing more. You can't rely on them to run a self-sustaining or profitable business nor to come up with nation-building ideas. They're not interested, nor are they able.
