LAHORE – Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will perform in Saudi Arabian on Friday (Oct 25).

Pakistan’s musical stars will entertain their fans in Riyadh, Turki Al al-Sheikh, Advisor at the Royal Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GEA, announced on Sunday.

Al-Sheikh, in a Tweet, said, “For our Indian and Pakistani brothers and sisters in Riyadh “Atif Aslam” and “Rahat Fateh Ali Khan” will be waiting for you on the 25th of October”.

Aslam, a Pakistani playback singer, music composer and actor, has recorded numerous chart-topping songs and is known for his vocal belting technique. Khan is known for his Qawwali music, a devotional music of the Muslim Sufis.

The decision was well-received with hundreds of people praising al-Sheikh’s announcement on social media.

Their performances come as part of Riyadh Season, one of the Kingdom’s 11 festival seasons that occur throughout the year, and will run from October 11 to December 15.

Surely, these stars and their fans will earn a lot Sawaab.

As much as they would if they performed on the moon or Pakistan.

Let's not make Saudi as some sort of extraordinary religious ground... It isn't .

It's the heart not the physical that is Holy.

Those makhloot mehaafil which were deemed haram yesterday. Whatever happened to the neomuslim agenda?

Why doesn't the Govt do anything to control large population also why doesn't the govt do anything for law and order pathetic excuses

Now government can't control population ab time guzar Gaya hai and it has nothing to do with law and order
In Pakistan after working all day a construction worker gets 5 to 7 hundred rupees or those who work in factories or at farms or as someone's drivers or servants
In Arab countries they get relatively higher wages

They are building a large human resource potential for the future with a large population, obviously. And law and order has improved greatly recently, to be sure.

If this was in Tehran you would be singing all praise of the Rumi inspired lyrics and how they are wearing the National Dress Code and how this is good for the economy.

But alas your ethnic bias gets the better of you.
