Pakistanis only: Is YouTube working for you

OK my Pakistani friends I wanna know if YouTube is working for you in Pakistan without using a proxy/VPN software?

I was in Pakistan couple of months ago and my brother told me he was able to browse YouTube from his mobile since past few months but not from the laptop so I tried my mobile and it was working fine without the aid of VPN apps.

I used it for over a month before returning back to UK and often read from Pakistani members showing desire to find alternative links other than YouTube. It could be because they are using the PC's but lets see who else is able to browse YouTube from mobile. I also noticed that some specific models were not able to open YouTube videos but most mobile phones were working fine

Then how is it working in Gujrat since 2013 or early 2014? Is it a technical issue or PTA deliberately unblocked YouTube from mobile device?

From puffin browser, I can use you tube from my mobile without any proxy.

@Aether I'm browsing youtube on my mobile (youtube app only) since months now. I live in Lahore. Youtube website is not working ofcourse, but their android app seems to be working on mobiles. I think Govt has just imposed ban on their website or something.

If you try to open youtube on my mobile using browser, it won't work. But if you open YouTube app, it will work like a charm.

It is working. Selectively. The agreement done by the government with mobile operators was to enable all forms of streaming and social media to make money of 3g connection. All cellphones have youtube working even if on wifi. Plus my youtube is working on the computer using https://. So basically no proxy of any kind needed. But youtube links of other sites are not opening directly.
