Local villagers in Pakistan's Dir district, bordering Afghanistan, are worried by an increasing number of attacks by armed fighters.

They say the Pakistani Taliban have systematically been attacking and destroying schools in the area. Local businesses are also suffering.

Locals say the Pakistani military needs to do more to protect them.

In this exclusive report, Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder explains how the villagers have been forced to defend themselves from fighters crossing over from NATO controlled territory in Afghanistan

Its really disappointing, the Army should at least provide the villagers more weapons and some medical supplies so that the villagers can at least be able to defend themselves from the Taliban scum.

With a few AK-47's and LMG's they wouldn't last against the well armed and well trained Taliban.
