This line of thinking exonerates those Wehrmacht and SS troops who committed atrocities of the worst kind against Jews. I can certainly understand what you are saying as it is essential for discipline and keeping things together, but their are limits to the actions of a soldier imo. In regards to the British Indian army, those chaps who enlisted should have found some alternative profession that is all I can say.kudos

Soldiers fighting wars is different that killing civilians.

So---how about a hindu---sikh---christian soldier in pakistan army fighting the same against the indian army----.

Or the iraqi shias killing the iranian shias during the iran iraq war---or sunni iranians killing iraqi sunnis.

Right. I will salute these soldiers. I salute them because they were our ancestors. Our great grandads. I don't frankly care what the political flag was flying over the land then. My grandad was born under this flag.

Furthermore he fought under this flag. You guy's think I am going to disown my own grandad because he was born or fought under this flag? Go to hell. I salute these men. I salute them as soldiers. I salute them for their bravery. I salute to them that many died far away from their familes. I salute them because they bought food and clothes for my poor ancestors.

That they might have fought against other Muslim brothers is another matter. Soldiering is like that. For them is to do and not to question. As we speak soldiers are fighting against TTP who are fellow Musims. Should soldiers start questioning who they fight? Absolutely not. Even if you disagree with a war you don't take way the bravery or sacrifice in battle of the soldiers.

Which idiot said that Pakistan did not exist then and that anything from that period is not applicable to 2016? Are you joking? My grandad was there and I am contuation of him. His land I have inherited. His memory I have inherited. Point being we have inherited everything from those days. Thus we have a direct connection that cannot be ignored. If you accept inheritance than you accept everything that comes with it.

And if you speak with the Turks they will understand it was differant times and that our forefathers were on the wrong side. However they will show respect for the bravery of those who fought them. That's why on Anzac day Turks, Australians, British, Germans all stand side by side. So should we. It is our legacy. Good or bad. Accept it. It is our past.

Soldiers have also executed non civilians during times of war, violation of rules of war, yet they may argue our CO ordered us.
As long Christina-Hindu is a citizen of his country and he has volunteered to fight an enemy nation then it is up to that soldier to perform his duty irrespective of the fact that the opposing soldiers maybe his co -religionists.kudos

Yet us Pakistani's who were not even the primary combatents are getting constipated about this? Do you know how many Turks died? Their country got invaded yet here they are holding Australian flags. Something Pakistani's need to learn and grow up like Turks.

Look below Turkish soldiers celebrating the dead from - Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, England. Pakistan's name should be there as well. It would look darn better then than hypenated with "terrorism".

Note the plaque in Turkey says "heroes". Would it be not nice to have Pakistani flag there as well?
