BEIJING – An official delegation of journalists from Pakistan comprising ten media men, also including two women, has reached Beijing, the Capital of People’s Republic of China. The tour has been organised by the China Radio International in collaboration with the ministry of information, Pakistan.
The Pakistani media men were welcomed enthusiastically by the Chinese people and the media men at the Beijing international airport. China, the most rapid growing economy of the world, has witnessed a great change over the period of few decades. All the roads in Beijing, a city of 20 million population, are covered with green trees on both the sides. Huge trade centers and plazas are seen everywhere and there is no concept of loadshedding.
However, the tradition of using bicycles by the elites has dwindled to great extent as the Chinese youths were seen driving luxury cars on the city roads. Many people including women still ride bicycles but they are quite few in number. The economic condition of the Chinese is much better as compared to several developed countries as minimum wage in China is Rs 13, 000 and petrol per liter is Rs 108. The trend of consuming CNG for motor vehicles is also very low in the city.
Danyal Gillani, press and culture attaché at the embassy of Pakistan, also cooperated with the Pakistani delegation and informed them about the tour schedule. He paid rich tributes to Editor-in-Chief Nawa-i-Waqt Majid Nizami for publishing and promoting Pak-China friendship. During his chat with the delegation, he told that he also worked with the Nawa-i-Waqt group as he started his professional life.
