Just got off the phone speaking to DG ISPR, although he was at a meeting but was kind enough to answer a few questions.
I started by asking him as what's the value of a Pakistani life as Citizens are being murdered on daily basis.?
DG:" Firstly, you can't put a value on a life, and If we didn't value the lives of our fellow citizens, we wouldn't have taken this war to the enemy".
I reminded the DG that Pakistan is self sufficient in producing APCs, and pointed out that last time there was a terror threat in the UK, the authorities had Tanks parked outside Heathrow Airport, why don't we see such measures taken to protect the GHQ and related establishments.?
DG: "Although there is a Mohafiz APC parked outside a parameter, but checkposts can only operate and function by the foot soldiers, and if the security personal merely sit inside APCs, how would the general public feel secure, we have to be seen amongst the public as it's our duty to protect their lives first".
Q: The ISI, Pakistan's premier intelligence agency, has the role to protect the country beyond it's borders, yet it it'self is being targeted on home grounds, how can i as a Pakistani feel secure.?
DG: I wish i could disclose more than i can, but let me tell you the ISI is hitting the culprits and their providers, where it really hurts, by merely pointing fingers of accusations, you don't achive your objectives, but let me assure you the ISI is giving a bloody nose to all the players, that's why they are running amok as they know well that the Pakistan Army and the ISI will see the job through".
Folks, i thought i share with you my conversation with the DG ISPR, who despite being under work pressure, sounded damn confident.
