Violation of the ceasefire agreement at the Line of Control (LoC) from the Indian side continues as Indian troops once again indulged in unprovoked shelling and firing in the Bajwat Sector of Sialkot on Sunday, while Pakistani troops retaliating to silence the Indian guns.
According to reports, Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing at all the check posts including Narowal and Patoli Check post.
Pakistani armed forces responded in a befitting manner which ultimately silenced the enemy's guns.
Security officials said the Indian security forces used light weapons and resorted to heavy mortar shelling on the Pakistani check posts in Sialkot’s Bajwat sector and civil areas.
Chinab Rangers retaliated in a befitting manner silencing the Indian guns, officials said.
No fatality was reported in today’s hour-long firing and shelling which is continued since Wednesday in different sectors of Sialkot, targeting civilian areas and claiming lives of two Pakistani soldiers besides loss of properties.
Pakistan and India had declared a ceasefire in 2003. However, Indian troops’ violation of the ceasefire has become a routine now causing great tension at the LoC.

Jammu: Pakistani troops opened fire at five Indian posts along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir last night, violating the ceasefire for the eighth time in 24 hours amid a controversy over Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's remarks hinting at seeking US intervention on Kashmir.

An officer of the Border Security Force or BSF said Pakistani rangers targeted border posts in RS Pura sub-sector at around 8.30 pm, firing first with small arms and later with mortars and rockets. The BSF troops retaliated immediately.

On Saturday, Pakistani troops had pounded 14 Indian posts and civilian areas in Jammu frontier with mortar shells, leaving two BSF jawans injured. There have been over 150 violations of the 2003 ceasefire agreement by Pakistan in the last two months.

The relentless attacks coincide with Nawaz Sharif's four-day visit to the US, where he hinted at seeking US intervention in resolving the Kashmir issue.

Mr Sharif was quoted in agency reports as saying that that during his US visit in July 1999 amid the Kargil conflict, he had told then President Bill Clinton that "if he spends 10 per cent of the time he was spending on Middle East, the Kashmir issue between two countries would be resolved."

The Obama administration reacted by saying there had not been an "iota of change" on its policy on Kashmir which considers it a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan.

Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid outright rejected Mr Sharif's comment, saying, "Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India - there is no question of anybody interfering with this idea. The US knows this very well."

India says it will assess the situation arising out of the sharp increase in ceasefire violations, but for the time being, it will leave it to the two directors general of military operations (DGMOs) who have been asked to restore peace.

well technically cease fire is over they are not in war but they are at same place were they were before 2003 nothing to be worry as they were firing shelling bombing each other since 1948 to 2003 on these sectors .now remove civil population from near of LOC and sit as you sit before 2003 . both have long experience of this game . my best wishes to pak army .

Islamic State of Pakistan is necessary in South Asia to keep a check on hindu fanaticism....

We have more sophisticated tanks, armor, artillery, and faster military deployment mechanism...we need to keep these edges on india, and at the same time, increase our air power strength by building a massive air force which is currently we are doing by adding new squadrons of JF-17s and upgrading F-16s...

Hindus only understand the language of strength and we need to keep speaking that language to these pesky indians..
