Rolex Awards for Enterprise as Associate LAUREATE for her project called “Sehat Kahani”. The Rolex Award for Enterprise was announced in an official ceremony on Friday in Washington DC, which was attended by Dr. Sara Saeed. With this achievement, Dr. Saeed has now become the first Pakistani woman in the list of now 150 Laureates.

Sehat Kahani

Sehat Kahani is a health tech social enterprise which is created to provide health care facilities in remote communities of Pakistan, through a network of qualified female doctors who were not previously working professionally due to household activities by using telemedicine system.

Dr. Sara Saeed Khurram has helped develop a telemedicine delivery system that can potentially work in remote communities around the world. The awarded project Sehat Kahani has 25 e-health clinics across Pakistan serves 95,000 patients. It employs 1,500 female doctors and more than 90 nurses and field health workers. Recently it has included Pakistani female doctors living overseas, making its services available round the clock.

Dr. Sara further plans to expand her network to 100 e-clinics, delivering affordable healthcare to up to 10 million people by 2023. She urged female doctor to devote more time in practice and become part of Sehat Kahani’s workforce.

Moreover, the Sehat Kahani enterprise has also launched a mobile application on 29th April 2019 at Nest I/O Karachi named Sehat Kahani mobile health app, which allows patients to record their health history, chat or conduct an audio/video consultation with an available network of doctors and also receive a prescription from the doctor. Furthermore, the home pharmacy delivery and lab tests facility makes it easy for people with low income to receive the required treatment from their homes.

Tele-medicine is becoming fairly widespread here in the US. This is an exciting endeavor. Congrats on the award.

I think it is only good for ordinary diseases but for complex cases it is better to visit doctor personally

I think we need to get out of our Pakistani mentality of our first thought/replying being the one negative thing in an otherwise extraordinary story.

BTW, I totally agree with your comment --- but we have this habit of our first/only comment being about what somethings lacks, not about the 100 things it is doing well.

Maybe a good approach is to first mention the good things about something and then, if required, some constructive criticism.

Peace.

Yes but you would be surprised how many die of ordinary diseases in Pakistan....many diseases in Pakistan are termed ordinary overseas

I think her idea is slightly unique coz it concentrates on remote areas and people in such areas don't have Internet so she has these clinics where you can go and connect and get access to tele medicine thus making it more accessible yo a wider range of people ....
