The Pakistani first-class cricketer Nauman Habib has died, reportedly the victim of a murder three days after playing for Peshawar.

Habib went missing on 9 October after leaving his house in Hayatabad, Peshawar, for a nearby gym. The body of the 32-year-old was found near his house two days later.

Pakistani media speculated he had been kidnapped and said that his body was found in a sack.

Habib played for Peshawar against Multan on 6-8 October in the first round of this season's Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and took seven wickets in the match.

Habib, a right-arm seamer who was the second-highest wicket-taker in the recent domestic Twenty20 tournament, played 63 first-class matches and 30 List A games.

He took 221 first-class wickets at an average of 26.22, with nine five-wicket hauls. Habib took 10 wickets in a match three times.
