A border security force, injured in Pakistan firing in Jammu's and Kashmir's RS Pura dies.

A Border Security Force (BSF) soldier, injured in Pakistani firing in Jammu's RS Pura sector, has died, an official said.

The soldier was evacuated to a hospital in Jammu after he was injured in heavy firing from across the border where he died late last night. Firing is still on.

Pakistan Rangers violated ceasefire twice on Sunday in the RS Pura sector along the International Border (IB), using mortar shells and firing small arms.

Security personnel gave a "suitable reply", a BSF spokesperson said.


On Friday night, Pakistan Rangers had targeted the border villages and border outposts (BoP) with mortar shells and opened fire from automatic weapons along the IB in the sector.

During the late night attack, which started around 11 pm and continued till Saturday morning, Pakistan Rangers had used 60 and 81 mm shells in the Korotana Khurd and Budhipur Jattan villages in the RS Pura sector.

Seven Pakistan Rangers personnel and a terrorist were killed and three others seriously injured in a befitting retaliatory action by the BSF as the Pakistani troops had targeted six sectors in Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu: The Indian and Pakistani armed forces exchanged heavy shelling and firing in several sectors along the International Border in Jammu district on Monday.


A BSF jawan was killed while three others were injured.

The Pakistani troops fired mortar bombshells and fired from automatic weapons, targeting over 25 border out posts (BoPs) and civilian villages in several sectors along the International Border (IB) in Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Pakistan Rangers opened indiscriminate firing and mortar shelling on forward BoPs and civilian areas in several sub-sectors along IB (in Jammu district) overnight," a senior BSF officer said.

There has been firing of small and automatic weapons and shelling of mortar bombs on over 25 BoPs and civilian areas in RS Pura, Arnia, Suchetgarh, Kanachak, Pargwal sub-sectors of Jammu district since last night and it is still on, the officer said.

"In the firing and shelling, one BSF Jawan was martyred and another injured," officer said, adding that the BSF troops guarding IB were giving a befitting reply.

The deceased jawan has been identified as Constable Susheel Kumar.

Police said two women were also injured in the firing in RS Pura sector and have been hospitalised.

Residents in the border villages of Jammu and Kashmir in Khour tehsil and other places in Jammu district spent another sleepless night as shells from across the border landed in the agricultural fields close to their homes.

Damages to civilian property, if any, in the area would be assessed during the day, the district authorities said.

There have been over 40 incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops since India carried out surgical strikes in Azad Kashmir after the Uri terror attack in which 19 Indian soldiers were killed.

We all know Pakistan doesn't have the gall to do anything beyond what they are doing right now, it will eventually stop when they think that their dozen different complexes have been sated. It always has and it always will.
