Pakistan, Turkey sign TOR for negotiations on FTA
Pakistan and Turkey have signed Terms of Reference for negotiations on bilateral Free Trade Agreement. The relevant document was signed during the first round of talks in Ankara on Thursday.
The Pakistani side was led by Additional Secretary Commerce Robina Athar while the Turkish side was headed by Acting Deputy Under-secretary Economy Husnu Dilemre.
The two sides reiterated to have a comprehensive free trade agreement and conclude the negotiations on a fast-track basis.
The decision to have a Pakistan-Turkey FTA was taken by the prime ministers of the two countries during the meeting of High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Islamabad in February.
The next round of the negotiations would be held in Islamabad in December.
