Pakistan to seek debt restructuring of CPEC power projects

:sarcastic: :sarcastic: :sarcastic:
Dude, first of all, you are barking at the wrong tree. I am not a Pakistani nor an enemy of Indian.

Next why are you so determine to prove that you are right?
To run down Pakistan.

BTW the word Debt Trap is a word that is invented and used by politician.

Personally like Imran Khan, I believe the CPEC project will be beneficial to Pakistan.

see that’s the thing. When we talk about economics we talk about numbers. I could careless who tf you are or you aren’t.

it’s a productive conversation where people are supposed to learn. Where am suppose to learn what idk from other and others learn from what I know

if you think everyone’s here to prove right or wrong then ur barking at the wrong tree

.
Deflect, me? No, I picked the only relevant thing you wrote, grandstanding and false appropriation. Besides, I have written much on CPEC and I don't find it necessary to engage you on that...
considering your very dubious and convoluted credentials.

I'm a Pakistani by descent and background, that is my qaum, even if I don't like my qaum. That's why I used the pronouns "us" and "we". How is that "false appropriation"?

Believe? There is nothing wrong with Cpec as long Pakistan can pay for it. If the price of cpec is ever increasing electricity price, low export growth, then its cost exceeds its benefits.

You don't have to keep reminding what are great student of economic, you are but listen dude, i will just take yours as your personal opinion based on your experience.
Economics is no rocket science.

IMO CPEC will be a great success and your concern don't appeared to have any correlation with the subject of economics but more with your personal political belief or bias
.
Do you hate the Pakistani or the Chinese?

Your opinion is not based on economic and financial data. Pakistan's exports are nowhere near enough to pay for Cpec projects. This debt restructure is the proof of it that Pakistan can't pay for Cpec.

I do when you can’t get your head out of the clouds and discard the numbers to say I am doing this for this reason and doing that for that reason.

And yes economics is not rocket science that’s why the entire world doesn’t use it to run their “economies”. And kid you have yet to use a number to justify your position. All I hear from u are I “believe” “IMHO” “I think” those words have no quantative value.

the irony is you’re like Indians you will blame everything else for an event except for the thing that is in front of you.

When you go to buy a car at the dealership and the bank tells u might not be able to pay for the car . Do you start saying to the bank “don’t politicize it”...” do you hate me or do you hate the dealership”.... “why are you so determine to prove urself right”

Last year China has announced that it is postponing the repayment of her loans by 77 nations during the pandemic period.
I don't think it is really a problem apart from those projects who have taken commercial bank loans.

Even if China is to postpone debt repayments, incurring interest on already accumulated debt will continue to grow. Pakistan is already paying most of its budget in debt repayments. In few years it will eat up entire budget.

The relationship between Pakistan and China is quite an unusual one.
If China can gift the 50 JF-17 jetfighter to Pakistan, then money is hardly an issue.
Like in Africa, she may even write it off if things did not worked out.

China is not The Paris Club or IMF.

dude they took their port. And gifting???? US has given the highest amount of aid to your country at around $100 billion total. Yet both countries are at odds. Aid and gift giving has very little to do in international standing

by that case the vaccines ur getting from the global program are majority paid by the US . However, you had to buy from the Chinese vaccine. Doesn’t mean that US and pakistan has special favors for each other

IMO The loans they are referring to are not the loans owing to China or by Chinese banks for the CPEC.

It is the rest of the 85% by other nations. Are they Debt Traps?

Why don't you quit your trolling?
Pretending to be an expert. You are showing your real color now.

Dude. You just want to demonize CPEC to portray both Pakistan amd China in the bad light.

IMO that is dishonest and so stop wasting our time.

CPEC has nothing to do with you since you are neither a Pakistani nor Chinese.

I hope they can reduce the interest payments to ease debt burden, Godfathers minions of slogan Khata be hai lekin lagata hai has really effed up Pakistan.

This is the reason why status quo should be banned coming back in power.

.
Policymakers and politicians have to be grade-A Idiots to allow Chinese firms to build imported coal IPPs when they knew Pakistan will have to Pay them back in Dollars. But in Pakistan everything is possible.

.
Read it again more closely it said the due payment in the 3 years is the $3 billion principal and 1.5 billion dividend. It doesn’t mean that that dividend is against that $3 billion loan i.e 50% ROI. It’s just telling you what’s due. That dividend is from another loan or series of loans or a tranche payment

because the repayment on the $3billion electricity loan is supposed to be recouped by adding a tariff of the electricity generated. That’s why it says it would take 12 years for the public of pakistan to repay that loan in the form of tariffs

You need to Get your eyes examined. Let's agree to disagree. Whatever the case, for a extremely poor country like Pakistan where millions live below poverty line, to be paying "Dividends" on top of extremely expensive power prices is insulting and humiliating to 250 Millions people and is preposterous. China needs to CORRECT THESE UNJUSTIFIED INCLUSIONS AND CORRUPTIONS ASAP OR THEY CAN KISS GOODBYE TO CPEC PROJECT and suck on it.
