Pakistan to increase troops in Saudi Arabia

پاکستان کے وزیرِ دفاع خواجہ آصف نے کہا ہے کہ اس وقت 1100 سے زیادہ پاکستانی فوجی افسران اور دوسرے رینک کے اہلکار سعودی عرب میں تعینات ہیں اور ان اہلکاروں کی تعداد میں مزید اضافہ ہوگا۔


منگل کو قومی اسمبلی کے اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے وزیرِ دفاع خواجہ آصف نے کہا کہ34 اسلامی ممالک کے اتحاد کے کوئی فوجی مقاصد نہیں ہیں بلکہ یہ دنیا کے اُن غیر مسلم ممالک کو جواب ہے جو مسلمانوں کو بطور شدت پسند پیش کر رہے ہیں۔

انھوں نے کہا کہ اسلامی ممالک کے اس اتحاد کو ابھی تک کوئی مناسب نام بھی نہیں دیا گیا اور یہ اتحاد کسی بھی ملک کے خلاف نہیں بلکہ یہ دہشت گردی کے خاتمے کے لیے بنایا گیا ہے۔

وزیرِ دفاع نے کہا کہ پاکستان کے سعودی عرب کے ساتھ سب سے زیادہ فوجی تعاون کے معاہدے ہیں جس کے تحت دونوں ممالک کی افواج کے درمیان ہر سال پانچ مرتبہ فوجی مشقیں ہوتی ہیں۔

وزیرِ دفاع نے نے کہا کہ اس وقت 1100 سے زائد پاکستانی فوجی افسران اور دوسرے رینک کے اہلکار سعودی عرب میں تعینات ہیں اور ان اہلکاروں کی تعداد میں مزید اضافہ ہوگا۔

خواجہ آصف کا کہنا تھا کہ اس اتحاد سے متعلق سعودی عرب سے مزید تفصیلات کا انتظار ہے، تاہم وفاقی حکومت کا کہنا ہے کہ اس اتحاد میں شامل مسلم ممالک سے کہا گیا ہے کہ وہ اپنے کردار سے متعلق خود فیصلہ کریں۔

وزیرِ دفاع کا کہنا تھا کہ اتحاد میں شامل ممالک کے درمیان مشاورت جاری ہے۔

اُنھوں نے کہا کہ سعودی وزیرِ خارجہ اور وزیرِ دفاع کے دورۂ پاکستان کے دوران اُن سے اس معاملے پر بات کی ہے۔

امریکہ کی جانب سے پاکستان کو آٹھ ایف 16 طیاروں کی فراہمی میں تاخیر کا ذکر کرتے ہوئے خواجہ آصف کا کہنا تھا کہ اس بارے میں بھارتی لابی کام کر رہی ہے جبکہ ان طیاروں کی تاخیر میں پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کے دور میں امریکہ میں پاکستان کے سفیر بھی پاکستان مخالف لابی کے ساتھ مل کر کام کر رہے ہیں۔

اُنھوں نےکہا کہ سعودی عرب اور ایران کے درمیان کشیدگی ختم کرنے کے لیے وزیر اعظم کا حالیہ دورہ اب تک کی اطلاعات کے مطابق کامیاب رہا ہے۔

خواجہ آصف نے کہا کہ امت مسلمہ کو اس وقت اتحاد کی شدید ضرورت ہے۔

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan, today announced to increase its military troops in Saudi Arabia. However this announcement has raised lots of questions as this offer had been denied several times in the past by Pakistan’s government.

From past few weeks, the government had been saying that Pakistan will not sent its army to another country but even at the time when this was being said hundreds of army soldiers and officers were present in Saudi Arabia, the purpose of whom was to deal with the risks of Saudi royal family.

And now when Prime Minister has not even returned after his Tehran visit, the reports are coming that Pakistan is increasing its military troops in Saudi Arabia. The news has been confirmed by Defense Minister Pakistan Khawaja Asif.

Now the question is that, at the moment when Pakistan is trying to bring down tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran, what is the message behind deployment of more troops in Saudi Arabia. Will Pakistan still be able to play a neutral role in Saudi-Iran tensions? Won’t Pakistan’s own public raise questions about government’s intentions on this act?

Here, another question arises that if 34 Nation Alliance is not against any country, then why Iran and Iraq are not included in it, who are straight away fighting against DAESH and also are targeted by it.

So these 34 countries will put their troops together for that specific theater.

I don't think there would be a "war ready" force. That would be super expensive to have a few hundred thousand troops away from their home countries, permanently based in KSA. It won't make sense either.

that coalition is already finished .... we shouldnt become party to any coalition ... the role we are playing now is good of being a mediator....we need more troops in our own country we need our trainers in our own country to train our own police force so they can provide better security to a common person

I have no idea of actual deployed troops and number but for sure Pakistan (Govt) is doing grave mistake at one hand we are negotiating between the two at the other hand we are increasing troops in KSA, brother it is not a matter of how many or war ready but for sure it will give a wrong message to Iranian people and leadership that we are advocating KSA not Iran. Our Govt given zero statement in favor of Iran on nuclear issue and we halted much needed Gas pipeline, reuse electricity from Iran.
We should avoid being party between they two.

you know what we did in Jordan, then Brigadier Zia was deployed in Jordan just for peace keeping and what he did. Still Palestinian hate us (those who know) in famously Israeli head of state said Zia manage to kill that much of Palestinian in 11 days which we fail to kill in 10 years.

Dumb move. This is the first step of getting pulled into the storm in the ME. Best would have been to provide training for their officers in Pakistan, if required. You do not want to provoke Iran when they start waking up from economic sanctions.

Think about it. The eternal enemy (which I think is wrong) India to the East. The nut jobs who want to ruin everbody (Taliban) to the north and the resurgent Iranians to the West.

And one wonders why Pakistani foreign policy is so messed up.

History makes you old, to understand thing and commenting on issues will need depth and knowledge of the history. By the way i am also not that old to be grand father just recently become Father.

The shadiness of it all puts doubts in our mind but i think they want better taraining for their special security groups to be able to handle a rebellion in Shia Eastern regions
