Pakistan to celebrate ‘Surprise Day’ on Feb 27

Hello,
The whole air defense network was on high alert if you remember correctly, India had been threatening us for quite sometime, furthermore the radars operate in a spectrum, furthermore they would already know the locations of our radars, it's no big deal, those individual frequencies can be tweaked afaik.
And our ground based AESA like TPS-77/Chinese YLC-12C AESA have frequency hoping capability (Low probability of intercept) LPI capabilities so enemy can't pick the right frequency for our ground base AESA

.
it doesn't mean anything
their jets were jammed so we can rule out that Indians used this fight to paint our radar frequencies and locations.

their locations can be changed and as their search mode can be adapted as well. if Indians learnt few things about us then we also did the same about their capabilities. they shot down their own helicopter and turned around when their jets started falling.

thats an emotional post. we should've gone to war over Indian annexation but were we as nation prepared?
I dont know.
it is debatable how much more we could've used the situation to our advantage. ok we could've downed their entire squadron they would've sucked it up or planned another raid and lost more jets then some trade of cruise missiles but I wonder .. doing all this was going to stop them from annexation of Kashmir? there is nothing short of full blown war leading to maybe nuclear stand off over Kashmir and I cant answer if we will be ever prepared for that or not?

I also rant some times saying that let it be full blown war with cities bombed and people killed and jets shot down right up to nuclear war but I am not a commander.

but our Muslim friends showed where they stood by showering Modi with national awards and receptions.
Leader of beef lynching has support of the beef eaters. Pakistan was mostly on their own.

That's not how jamming particularly works, their systems are operational but give false information like false radar returns and static on radio, it's not like their mfd screens go blank and their planes start falling out of the sky. :)

No they were jam by our Falcon 20 ECM aircraft as well as our AWACS (Erieye) has also the capability to fools the enemy

Irrespective of the jamming asset used, electronic warfare revolves around disinformation and overloading of sensors, i.e you cause a sensory overload of their radar and render it unusable & you start transmitting static on their radio frequency.

Hi,

I would agree to disagree---.

But this drama before and after the strike was not necessary at all. Too much un-necessary information got leaked out---supposedly the pilot's leaked conversation to his superior and other tactical information---.

static radio random noise method is old way to disguise enemy, first develop in ww2, its easliy counter by modern sensor to filter out random radio noise, most of the the world air forces far modern ECM / then this methods

The basic idea is the same. :)

Why would we celebrate! 27-02-19

Yes Yes...we shot down a MiG21 and probably Su-30MKI (No-Proof from Official or OSINT)

But are we celebrating indecisiveness? nearsightedness? strategical blunder? loss of IOK? peace-foolness! enemies within? corruption?

let me remind you too much given for so little! it is nothing to celebrate about ....

i agree with your point
silence regarding tactics and how the assets were used should've been strictly need to know

Hi,

India did not need to reply anymore---their target and goal was achieved---. They wanted to find out the real response of the Paf---and they got it.

The found out that the Paf lacked fire power---it lacked dare---it was satisfied with small victory---even though there was a " duck shoot " presented to them---.

27th feb was tactically and over all failure of Pak military---. Pak military consortium was satisfied with less---even though there was an open season shoot out at the enemy---.
U think this was the Decision of PAF Alone?? Your own PM which you love so much didnt even care for his self respect and was busy calling Indian PM for peace after Op Swift retort had happened. Whose decision was to release Indian Pilot as soon as possible. Stop blaming just one branch of Military. It was a collective decision of Civil+Military

cant care less about details because
only someone in that field of studies or actually in the air Force can understand thr exact tactics employed and what systems they affected of the adversary

our strike force deployed the payload and successfully returnrd

Hi, that's not how AD network works, think of it like that, your airspace is divided into various three commands, northern, central and southern and then there's the air defence command, each command is subdivided into various sectors with their own sensors and offensive weapons, all the data from your airborne assets and ground based sensors is being studied in near real time, when an incursion is detected, the air defence command prioritizes it and assigns it to nearest asset be it a sam site or a flight of interceptors whichever is near,
The thing that made Indians hightail weren't fighters, it was the fact that they had been painted by one of the many radars in our air defence network and were being tracked.
One more thing a radar track/lock from the enemy is enough to make anyone lose their nerves.
Doast, what ever AD network we have... The fact they crossed in remained in Pak air space for very brief time and went back..... Untouched..... Ground locks by single network or multiple remained useless unless the locks resulted in some ground fire..... It means decision making was poor.@MastanKhan
