Yes that is the idea but inflation hovering at alarming levels cause dissatisfaction with any remuneration.

This is a good recipe for attrition in outsourcing industry!

But that also requires the infra and training which I think Pakistan lacks. Though a social evil but the money in India is in hands of some some itellectuals which in term were able to invest to make the setup and get the people trained and reap the benefits.

There is alot of outsourcing from pakistan now.... and it is increasing every day. As per level of living is concern the per capita income is 1042$, so you can somewhat judge it from this figure.

A good indicator of cost of living is the 'Mac index' or the 'Coke index'.

So what's the price of a big mac in pakistan? In India it's around INR 70.

And the price of coke?

No what i meant was how much money per month is required in pakistan to live a normal life.

Outsourcing is there i have had contacts and interacted with them. Dont take it otherwise they are skillful but lack professionalism and lack on the process side. Just knowing programming is not something which you work in IT. you need to have strong process orientation which is the main problem.

Pak rupee devalues to record level

KARACHI: The Pak rupee is persistently buckling under pressure at interbank market, as the dollar today soared to an all time high at Rs85.40, Geo News reported Monday.

According to Forex market dealers, the excessive buying of the greenback by the banks today, pushed up its demand at Interbank market, causing it mount to the record level at Rs85.40.

The Forex market dealers said that buying worth $200 million is expected of the importers during the current week for payments of crude oil, which would further shove the value of Pak rupee down the slope.

Bright side is Pakistan can export more products and goods as it would become even cheaper for importers.

Agreed. China uses the same strategy but a subtle difference to note.

The reason for devaluation is clearly preceded by alarming inflation. World bank/IMF warnings have not helped either to this end. China on the other hand has making costs reasonably constant though the value of the currency is artificially controlled. China has the edge as the end product is superior to the cost in dollars while the cost incurred in Pakistan to manufacture an item would have increased in rupee terms to compensate for the inflation.

its all the doing of a corrupt inept government! the Mr.10% has made us come to this level!

However the world should see the COST that Pakistan is paying to fight the war for the WORLD!!!!

& before indians jump in and say he we can root out terrorism & what not!

look at indian economy losses due to MAOISTS or Kashmir freedom struggle or the reeling US economy due to war in afghanistan & iraq!!!

given such examples 85.40 is actually a MIRACLE!!!! knowing that we fighting so many more enemies to keep the world a safer place!

Well yes devaluation help in boosting of export if inflation kept controlled. But the dark side, when you are a bigger importer of machinery for setting up of new units then for sure import bill will rise. On the other hand when you are a big borrower and under heavy debt burden then add up your repayment too.

Well the bad news will be pak's exports are worth $20billion and imports worth $32 billion..so net result of Pak Rs depreciation will be negative.

Hence imports will be at net higher prices causing inflation.
