Pakistan pavilion emerges favourite in Intrade Malaysia 2010

ISLAMABAD (November 10, 2010) : The customised made Pakistan pavilion with green coloured theme and 12 booths representing diverse products ranging from handicrafts to surgical instruments emerged as one of the favourite pavilions in the Intrade Malaysia-2010. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Malaysian Minister for International Trade and Investment (MITI) in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.

Malaysian Minister for MITI Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed specially visited the Pakistan pavilion and showed his keen interest in the exhibits displayed there including ladies apparel, handicrafts, shoes, jewellery, bed linen, health products, hand-made carpets, furniture, ladies designer dresses and surgical instruments.

High Commissioner for Pakistan in Malaysia Masood Khalid, who greeted the Malaysian Minister at the Pakistan pavilion, said that Intrade Malaysia 2010 being an international marketplace has provided the Pakistani exhibitors a unique opportunity to meet more than 8000 trade buyers and around 300 exhibitors from several countries including Japan, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Indonesia, UAE, Abu Dhabi to strengthen their networking and explore business opportunities through direct interaction with their trade counterparts from around the world.

The High Commissioner, however, stressed the need to introduce the other range of Pakistani products including gems, jewellery, marble, cutlery, light engineering, sports, leather and Halal sectors products through these kind of exhibitions to capture Pakistan's rightful share in the international trade.

The Commercial Counsellor for Pakistan Wajiullah Kundi hosted an FTA clinic in the exhibition and briefed the Malaysian businessman on the salient features of Malaysia Pakistan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (MPCEPA) and catered to their queries regarding concession available to them in duties and tariff under FTA signed between Pakistan and Malaysia in 2007.

The Intrade Malaysia provides the exhibitors a chance to build local & foreign business alliances, launch new products, meet agents and distributors for marketing products/services, explore joint venture opportunities with prospective players at the global level, create and expand global market network and showcase their products and services to qualified decision makers.

INTRADE Malaysia organised by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) from 9-ll November, 2010 is the fourth consecutive event, and both foreign and local companies in several industry clusters including food & beverages, electrical & electronics, wood-based products, building materials and services have exhibited their products.

LAHORE (November 09, 2010) : Pakistan with twelve booths is participating in a big way in the "INTRADE Malaysia 2010," one of Malaysia's premier international trade exhibition, to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from November 9-11, 2010, Pakistan High Commission told Business Recorder in an E-mail message on Monday.

In his message commercial counsellor Wajiullah Kundi said so far twelve firms have confirmed their participation in the exhibition representing sectors such as ladies apparel, handicrafts, shoes, jewellery, bed linen, health products, hand-made carpets, furniture, ladies designer dresses and surgical instruments. High Commissioner for Pakistan in Malaysia, Masood Khalid while expressing satisfaction over Pakistan's participation said that "INTRADE Malaysia" provides an ideal gateway for participant companies to access the growing markets of ASEAN and surrounding regions.

He urged the business community of both the countries to frequently participate in exhibitions, conferences and trade fairs held in Pakistan and Malaysia. He urged the Malaysian businessmen to participate in Expo Pakistan 2011 being held in Karachi, next year.

INTRADE Malaysia 2010 will also provide virtual buying and selling opportunities to the participants by linking to the exhibition, buyers from around the world, through an IBM programme from MATRADE's overseas offices and was expected to draw more than 1000 quality international buyers from over 60 countries to the exhibition through this linkage.

INTRADE Malaysia will also organise 4G' KL International Trade Forum (KLITF) 2010 to provide an avenue to the exhibitors and buyers to benefit from information regarding latest developments taking place to promote international trade.
