Yes a group of people protested, the govt doesn't supported it, had a crackdown.

How is this anything relevant and hypocritical, relations are between states not dictated by a group.

Just as many Indians protested against China, boycotting products...but Indian state has good trade relationship with China, perceived as an enemy country...here lies the dichotomy.
