Pakistan, Malaysia pledge to strengthen defence ties

RAWALPINDI, July 19 (APP): Pakistan and Malaysia on Thursday underscored the need for maintaining and promoting close cooperation, particularly in areas of defence and defence production.It was decided during a meeting between Federal Minister for Defence Production Sardar Bahadur Ahmed Khan Sihar and Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Malaysia, Dato Sri Dr. Haji Ismail Haj Ahmed, held at the Ministry of Defence Production here.A Malaysian delegation led by Dato Sri Dr. Haji Ismail Haji Ahmed,Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Malaysia is visiting Pakistan for the 10th Pak-Malaysia Joint Committee of Defence Cooperation (JCDC) meeting.The visiting dignitary also called on Secretary Ministry of Defence Production, Lt Gen ® Shahid Iqbal and discussed matters of mutual interest.The cooperation in areas of defence production was emphasized during the meeting.
