The recent call by some politicians, retired generals and columnists for the military to step in and take charge of the country is absurd. These handful goons never allowed democracy to flourish and take roots for some vested interests. These people who are calling for this kind of change have no moral standing of their own. Some, including one retired general, were allegedly involved in the Mehran Bank scandal whereby funds from the ISI were given to several politicians. Among these is one general who has admitted in the past to blocking the PPP from coming to power by cobbling the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad. And another who himself submitted the list of people who were given the money by the agency. Such insane calls are tantamount to put country in complete turmoil. Dislodging government by unconstitutional means simply means destruction of Pakistan. Enough is enough, now military would not be allowed to play havoc with this country. It is wise suggestion for such people to hold their horses and stop playing in hands of anti-Pakistan elements.

A word of caution: Pakistanis have been led many times before to believe that the next winner is the messiah who will change the nation's destiny. A critical analysis rather than falling for demagoguery is still needed, specially this time around.
