BEIJING, Dec 26 (APP): Pakistan has been invited for participation in an investment and trade fair to be organized next year at the starting point of ancient Silk Road in China’s northwestern Shaanxi province. Commercial Counsellor at Pakistan Embassy Riaz Ahmed Shaikh attended a briefing held in this regard to promote Silk Road Economic and Trade Cooperation Theme Events in the 18th Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East and West China (ITFCEW) here in Beijing on Friday. Riaz Ahmed told APP that for participation of Pakistan in the symposium, he has written a letter to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) highlighting its significance.
The 18th ITFCEW will be held in Xi’an the capital city of Shaanxi province.
The 4-day ITFCEW runs from May 23-26, aimed at promoting the construction of Silk Road Economic Belt as well as the trade and cooperation among the countries in the Economic Belt, he said adding that it will also facilitate the westward development in China.
He said that the 18th ITFCEW is hosted by various ministries and commissions of China, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), related economic and trade authorities along the Silk Road and national business associations.
The fair is being jointly hosted by Shaanxi Provincial Government and CCPIT.
A series of events will be held in accordance with the theme, including theme forum, parallel forums, shows and exhibitions, guest
country events, Silk Road Chambers of Commerce cooperation, roundtable conference and project matchmaking activities.
It also aimed at promoting the regional integration and development and the orderly transfer of industries from East China and Central China to West China and Silk Road Economic Belt so as to develop new advantages in China westward campaign with joint efforts.
