Pakistani troops have yet again fired mortars along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. On Monday, troops from Pakistan opened fire in Poonch district where they targetted four villages.
Following the continuous ceasefire violations, minister of State for Information and broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathod, has said that it is an old habit of Pakistan Army to fire along the Indian borders whenever there is a festival going on in the country. Pakistani troops have yet again fired mortars along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. On Monday, troops from Pakistan opened fire in Poonch district where they targetted four villages. There has been no casualty reported on the Indian side. This is the second ceasefire violation in the last 24 hours.
Rathod told ANI that, “Ye purani adat hai, Pakistan sarhad pe jo bhi hamare tyohaar hote hain us din wo zaroor golabaari karte hain wahan par. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Pakistani army had violated the ceasefire in Krishna Ghati Sector in the same district. Meanwhile, this is the third ceasefire violation in Poonch in the last four days.
“There was unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army in Krishna Ghati Sector in Poonch district from 1200 hours, using 82 mm mortars and automatic weapons,” a defence spokesman had said. “Army took positions and gave a befitting response. Intermittent firing is going on,” he had added. On March 9, army jawan Deepak Jagannath Ghadge was killed when Pakistani soldiers initiated indiscriminate and unprovoked firing along the LoC in Poonch. the defence spokesperson also said, “Army took positions and gave a befitting response. Intermittent firing is going on.”
