'Pakistan has 100,000MW electricity capacity for 200 years'

Let's see when funding for the three megadams is available, and when the plants switch over to Thar coal.

Lets see what Nawaz does this year, PPP couldn't secure loans for big dams. Dasu and Basha are sure bet, while maybe Bunji has been pushed back little bit. At the moment government is only talking Basha & Dasu dams.

But there is no money for them, yet.

Yes not yet, while loan for Dasu will be secured. Pakistan will must likely finance Basha from its own resources if loan are not approved.

There is no money yet. Let's see if and when it is arranged.

Pakistan is blessed with abundance of energy sources which they could easily use to not only benefit herself but also her surrounding regions such as Afghanistan , Iran , and even India . However unless and untill they don't realise their potential I don't see much solutions to their energy problems .
Who are the big private players in Pakistan ?? A state cannot run alone by herself , for it to flourish it needs to join hands with the corporate world . For example in India , Realiance is doing a good job in energy sector .

Talk less work more!

Remember all the talk about Dr. Mubarikmand's underground coal gasification project in Thar? There was a lot of hot air, but no power. Whatever happened to it?

Remember the claims about converting all coal burning thermal plants to Thar coal? Where did that go?

FLAWED ARTICLE.

Assuming bout generating electricity with fossils isnt gonna be for long tym and we talking bout 200 yrs.

Pakistan shud start investing step by step, even a little will do, in renewable sources. Alongside, generate majority electricity with coal but do plan to get out of it in couple of decades.

I think the funds for Dasu dam should be arranged easily. Remember when Zardari was showing strong desire for Diamer-Bhasha Dam, the world bank was pushing him towards Dasu particularly/apparently because India had objections over Diamer-Bhasha and Dasu was almost free of controversies. The only nation to have raised objections "Afghanistan" agreed to step back.

The world bank on countless occasions expressed her willingness to fund the Dasu dam project and they are likely to approve the first 700 million dollars of funds in couple of days. Part of the Dasu Dam will also be funded by the German bank

Yes, those are all good words and intentions. I will believe actual actions a bit more. :D
