Pakistan First Customer Of Land Cruiser

I did not know Pakistan was the First customer of the iconic unforgettable Land Cruiser. Pakistan may have been country to propel Land Cruiser to fame or maybe just the first customer. It is no surprise since so many were in service with our military, customs, police etc. Especially in rugged areas of KP, Northern Areas and Balochistan.

Pakistan in 60s was booming until Bhutto and what followed later on.

Agree with him regarding LC's fading performance in US. Also agree with him that instead of the image a grand luxurious SUV. Toyota should offer the 70 series LC as a rugged off road and pickup truck model for American. Americans sure love big unnecessary trucks/SUVs that burn monumental amounts of fuel and emissions. They are making profits off the 70 series, so fail to see why they can't do same in US

We created the largest Steeles Mills in Asia connected with Train all the way to Port (Late 70's)

Pakistan was Powerhouse in Hockey an Olympic sport

Well, I would say one of the biggest adopters of Land cruiser - the original for farming was South African farming community; we embraced it to the point it is still being built from end to end locally; known as '79 model. The downside, it saw thousands exported up north where after Qaddafi fell, these showed up all over north africa in the hands of rebels.
It is a work horse; i am talking of the real land cruiser - the bakkie or as in english you say pick up truck. They cannot discontinue due to huge local and continental africa's demand for it keeps the production line going.
