Fake news ... all good news during PTI gov is fake.
wtf it has to do with PTI ?
did they opened any IT park ?
helped any IT sector ?
provide any tax exemptions to private sector?
PTI is just eating fruits of seeds which last govt bowed.
during pandamic , most of work is being done from home , so its easy for western companies to ask it online / to Pakistan/india /bangladesh. and world is opening after pandamic and work is increasing, this is what is showing it as IT export.

IT sector is compromise of some sofatware houses and software delivery. Not a single effing company has RND center in pakistan but every company has in india.

Good, and this is what I've been saying for a while. There is so much potential for exporting in today's world of internet. A country of 220 million can easily do wonders. Especially a student with some inter level college education can easily earn halal income in free time by having few IT know how and this can be done by you tube or some other online research.

Not saying it will run your house, but at least it will bring in some extra side income which will definitely help them and the country as whole.

Aim should be $50 billion a year in IT exports within 5 years.

I don't see that as a fair or realistic target, it's worth more than all of exports combined. Plus, it begs the question what policies and initiatives need to be implemented to help us cross the 10bn mark? I read a paper a very long time ago that said that Pakistan's IT exports, the vast majority were primarily low-tech production, and not high or medium tech exports. I wonder what the composition is now? Countries low on the IT export ladder usually start with the low-hanging fruits of export success, like outsourcing and "bodyshopping".

The IT export efforts that have been successful in other countries have been very long-term, they take decades to build up. Most countries who are considered second-tier exporters of software, started off as fledgling exporters like us, then first tier and low-tech, then large companies and int'l MNCs eventually either developed locally or set up significant operations in those countries.

I'm really not so knowledgeable in these matters, but some serious analysis of Pakistan's standing, the success of other countries, and a roadmap with realistic targets would be a great start.
