Pakistan emerges Kenya's key exports destination

its a simple maths... u export what u have in excess and generate revenue. For example if Pakistan need 25 million tons of wheat each year and let's assume they have a production of 40 million ton. You might want to keep 30 million at home and sell off rest of thd 10 million tons in international market mostly at much higher price

That's true what you say, however, I don't believe Pakistan has anything major in excess apart from fruit, precious stones, wool and construction related materials all of which also face huge international competition.

Personally, I believe that Pakistani people are the sellers and the customers themselves due to huge size of the population. The demand within Pakistan is so high in everything that the supply is so low because much of the goods get exported at cheap prices due to competition. But because supply within Pakistan is low, the prices automatically become too high. It's a vicious circle.

If I'm not mistaken, the single biggest import Pakistan is spending on is oil and that too due to government's inability to keep up with public demand of electricity.

Allahu Alam.

India and China are also big nations but still they have so much to offer to the world and their poor nations dont eat everything they produce in the country. They have much larger exports than us when u compare their population and divide by our population in equal size...

We have so much to export but we don't.... our agriculture could produce much larger yield in the existing land if the farmers were trained properly and the required seeds were given to them
We have one of the lowest yield output per acre in the whole of asia... improve it and you have another 5-10 billion or more worth dollars of exports... we dont export minerals at all despite large reserves in the country.. its too little production to call it export... and same goes for every sector including coal, industrial products, minerals and everything else. We have potential in every sector but no management to take care of it

Having large imports is very dangerous if your exports do not rise up to the same level

Come on Pakistan, increase some exports... restore your reputation in the world market

You cannot Battle Chai, Pakistan needs Chai as much as it needs oxygen.

Do you know that one project lead in NDC has about 4-5 cups of Chai from duty 8-3?(along with cigs)
If you take away Chai, Pakistan falls.

People have been saying in Pakistan for some time now that only good leadership can change Pakistan.

I don't know... I have always assumed, a lot of money thrown from abroad everywhere in Pakistan is what will eventually change Pakistan. I am thinking on lines of the Marshall Plan that rebuilt Europe and Japan. Those regions enjoyed free American security and recovered very very fast. In fact none of those countries have ever been militarily attacked except for Britain's Falklands Islands.

Anyway, only 9-10 days to go now and it's looking-like either Pakistan Muslim League or Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf will be the ones who'll be leading the nation (along with Pakistan People's Party). Let's see how well these two Fiscal Conservative parties govern if they're allowed to complete their full five-year term.

The revolution/charity always begin from home. The remittance you receive from abroad could be regarded as supporting base but can't change the condition of people of Pakistan.

I think the Pakistani diaspora will begin to question the whole idea of their remittances being seen as politicians plaything, especially since the CJP has mad e clear that while the money of Pakistanis abroad is welcome, their ideas and opinions, indeed their votes, are not.

The Awaamization of private remittances will soon become a significant issue in Pakistan.
