Unlike Swat, PA needs to be very precise.
Instead of launching a full scale operation, target TTP leaders and their core shura people.

About time to take this Bull by its horns. Blow them to pieces and show no mercy to these beasts as they showed no mercy to 50,000 innocent Pakistani citizens. I have had it with their CRAP.

So, what is so different from USA drone strikes that have been so heavily criticized here on the PDF??

Foreign country infringing upon the sovereignty of Pakistan vs Pakistani security forces under orders from the democratically elected govt, attacking criminals living in Pakistan.. I think a lot of difference...

All the best to PA and PAF

If a foreign country uses it's technology and money to kill the murderers in their society, shouldn't utility trump such concerns? Look how easily US drones took out baitullah and hakimullah mehsuds. If Pak was to do that by themselves, they would have to launch a ground offensive, displace hundreds of people, lose a few soldiers and a lot of money and infrastructure. Drones flown by pilots in Virginia have made life easy for the Pakistani security establishment, and broken the back of their insurgency. Make no mistake - all the rona dhona against drones is for political stunts. Without drones, Pak would have lost a lot more people and money than they have so far.

Same logic would apply to Indians providing US military bases on Indian soil to deal with terrorists operating from Pakistan. I did not see much support for that approach in that thread..

Good, we need to break their jaws before inviting them to table. F*ING terrorists think they would have a position of power in negotiations... we got to correct some misconceptions!

No, the same logic would not apply. For one thing, has the US made such an offer, ever? That they will fight our wars for us? Secondly, are Pakistani terrorists as much a threat to India's existence as they are to Pakistan's existence? Doing a Mumbai massacre once a decade is different from threatening the very existence of the state, running a parallel govt and legal system, and making a big chunk of the country out of bounds for the legitimate state. Third, does hitting TTP with drones have the same consequence as waging war on Pakistan? Pak has an army, navy and air force that can retaliate. TTP has gunmen, and that's it. Fourth, would giving USA a base or two really mean that they will do precision strikes on Pakistani terrorists fighting India, like say the leadership of the hizb ul mujahieen or lashkar-e-toiba?

Completely apples to oranges comparison.

Not really.. The mode of help that US provides or the intensity of the problem faced by India and Pakistan may be different, but the basic underlying decision is the same. Does one allow a foreign country's military to operate in yours to do your dirty work..

The same difference if we were carrying out drone strikes in Texas while occupying Mexico.
