Check out this guy's other videos too. He's done India and Bangladesh before as well as extreme travel to places like Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia where he had armed escorts etc. Really good stuff.

Have seen some videos of BD by this Indigo guy...don't think these kind of videos will attract any traveler to visit Pakistan or BD/India, it is more like the traveler making a Vlog for his own self and promotion.

The only point it shows is that Pakistan is safe now and this might be a plus point.

To increase tourism revenue Pakistan need to promote high end travel, cannot earn anything from backpackers and budget travelers except for the goodwill...will that brings in more people, yes, but not more revenue.

I like his style of vlog, super real and not trying to spin anything. Guys like you and me know it's the truth when he shows Karachi and Mumbai just walking around the chaos with all the traffic and horns blaring etc.

It is what it is, hopping around luxury retreats wouldn't give a truthful account of how things are here.

As far as attracting wealthy high end tourists, in Pakistan's case at least, you've first got to make a base of curious adventurers and vloggers who can get the message out that it is safe now and Pak is moving past it's bad rep as a dangerous place. Once you've established a core of such returnee world travelers, the word will get around and that is when the wealthy 5 - 7 star/ luxury seeking tourists will start coming in. You have to have facilities that attract that crowd too. Curious, what is Pakistan's most super ultra luxurious offering ?

As the rastafari might say.. step ina baby step :)

was not too great this year here anyway, and the damn bug has completely destroyed profits for tourism here (and across the world)

here's a cool video about an Indian high end hotel by a non high end traveler:

He captured karachis bad parts overall.

That said this only highlights Sindh & Karachi govts chutiyapa world wide.

Bilo ranis barish ka paani & MQMs local administration ki safai.

To earn big amount of tourism revenue, Pakistan, Sindh need to develop its beaches on a large scale just as Malaysia, Thailand and tiny Maldives did, many other countries...the thing is even in winters when Europe/US/Canada is freezing in -25 degree C, the sunny beaches here in Sindh and Balochistan are warm and sunny...and these sunny beaches can attract lots of travelers from Europe(not from US and Canada) though because of the long distance.

Also from Russia and other closer countries, China too.

Nobody from Europe will visit the snow capped mountains up in the north Pakistan in winters and in summers too(Europe has plenty of Alpine scenery in France/Germany/Swiss/Austria/Italy/Austria, many more....)...few will visit the heritage sites, Kailash, some mountaineers will visit in few hundreds or thousands.

Gilgit Baltistan will attract some....KPK too.

Has to be divided into, cultural, religious, adventure, exploration, food tourism, and many genre of tourism to make a difference.

Oh please.

He showed true and real Karachi here, as did he with places in India and BD.

Would you rather he only shows some brigadier's fancy new Bahria Town villa ? :P

Don't worry though. Pretty sure videos of a lavish wedding of a General's daughter in Islamabad are coming up soon

That has been done and lots of intl' vloggers are visiting Pakistan and doing their bit...in very large numbers actually.

Good to see, it'll take time while it blossoms.

If you can keep the skorti under control, no Taliban beheadings etc of climbers/adventurers for another 4 - 5 years, it has potential to really take off.

karachi is not a liveable city, standards of living, facilities are terrible, im glad the guy didnt speak much ''truth'' like the turkish vlogger.

I live in Karachi & I belong from a mil family.

That said, I wonder why you didnt read my comment regarding the mismanagement by local and provincial governments.

This is Saddar Empress market(in your posted vid), one of the most congested area of Karachi and normally Karachites avoid this place shown in the video, frequented by people from KPK and upcountry, villages and small town...as this is a bus Hub and a transit point.

Yes Karachi has its fair share of good, bad and the ugly...

How Ironic...20 million plus souls makes it the most liveable and lively city, a business, economic, industrial, commercial nerve center...people from dozens of countries lives here, and from across Pakistan and truly the most cosmopolitan city in Pakistan.

no Taliban beheadings

Lol!!!

This is very common with the Vloggers and specially the backpackers, almost all the foreign vloggers has shown teh slums of Mumbai and Pahar Ganj in Delhi, Dharavi in Mumbai is their favorite...many bad and downtrodden areas of BD as well...

But they are budget travelers and cannot stay in a 5 star hotel costing about 200 USD per night...

Didn't mean to take a dig at anyone, but the army's clout in Pakistan is a bit of a meme here.. and it is a meme because its true lol

It's systemic all over the subcontinent.

Good governance/governments are always shafted by powerful local political, and in Pakistan's case, military interests.

A Pakistani Kejriwal (you lot seem to view him quite favourably) as mayor, CM, or governor of province wouldn't be able to accomplish much wrt the corruption that keeps these areas down either.

and of course there are "good" and "bad" places everywhere on earth, not just in Bharatvarsh :D

We have a Saddar Bazaar here too, wholesale market chaos.

check some vlogs on Chandni Chowk and Chor Bazaar in Del if you want.

disaster waiting to happen, if not riots, a short circuit will kill 100s of thousands if there is a problem.
