Pakistan convinces international community for aid, investment

Commies are oil and free market is water. They should not be mixed unless it is for a specific application and for a short time.

Commies cannot invent Google, Microsoft, Twitter, facebook, youtube, Iphone or even a lowly transistor. It is not in their genes.

India suffered tremendously under commie system. If it was not for its old industrial business families (think Tata, Mittal, Birla.. and countless others), Indian economy would have died long time ago. But thankfully it didn't. Those pesky business families in the south kept the entrepreneurship's small candle flickering even through the dark years of Indira Gundi's commie policies.

And as soon as the commie yoke was thrown away, the economy boomed and the country prospered, pulling millions out of poverty and into the middle class Indians.

Mark my words. China too will remember its commie years as "dark ages", just wait for few decades for them to write their history.

What India is today is what Pakistan was in the 60s before the dark ages of Islamo-socialism (actual slogan of Bhutto and I am not making it up) fell upon us as a multi-headed monster.

It destroyed our banks, our universities colleges schools, and our industry.

countless factories became rusting hulk of metal. And then nation and its economy went downhill fast.

Just note! These days, Pakistani lefties and Islamists are begging for a $billion here for Gawader, or a billion there for IP. Believe me, Pakistani industrialists would have been spending this out of their own hard earned money had it not been for the black faced Bhutto's black years of Islamo-socialism.

OK. I'll stop here. Getting too romantic about the good years from the past. Hope you get the point.

peace to you brother. peace to you.

Bravo... after long time some one spoke against commies on forum ...
Each and every line is true and holds value like gold

-- Our tax structure is very similar to that of India's. So not much there.
-- Land reforms is a socialist and commie idea that failed in Indian Bengal and miserably. Land snatching is also practiced African commie countries and all of them went from net producers to begging bowls. So no go for commie land grab in Pakistan.

As an Indian you should be sharing with us the same things that worked for India and some of them are:

1. Strong pro-USA policies at the level of people (and not just gov to gov)
2. Humble and friendly masses especially to the Gora visitors
3. pro-USA Indians who are in USA and EU (as opposed to Islamist-Paks who live bread and eat in the West and still are anti-USA)
4. Smart Industrialists who want and do global trade.

By the way this is the same formula of success used in South Korea, China, Japan, South Africa
On the other hand tribal Africans, tribal Arabs, tribal Iranians, and north Koreans do not believe in this formula and that's why all of these are in the gutter of poverty.

We had the 4 point success formula in the 60s under Ayub military gov. Too bad our commie Bhutto looted and destroyed all that.

So I urge you not to preach us the commie policies.

Peace.

Mate, Tax collections in Pakistan is among the lowest For ex- Only 1.9 million people in a country of 170 million filed tax returns at all in 2010. An estimated 10 million people are registered to pay taxes in Pakistan; the great majority don't pay a rupee. --> You certainly needs some reforms/ policy change so that more people pay taxes.

Land reform are needed because it will give more earning power to the peasants and thus improve the tax collections as well.. Land reforms in India may have failed at one place or other but in general it worked in favor of masses. My family too lost huge chunks of lands in 50's due to these land reforms when Zamindari system was abolished but I believe that was right step because it helped removing an intermediaries between Govt and working class and it helped in ceasing exploitation of peasants, it helped reducing powerful Zamindars who used to have private armies.. These issues still exists in Pakistan and lots of Waderas etc exploit the working class, evade taxes, form private armies and have opposed the writ of Central govt on numerous occasions. Do you not see that as an issue?

I don't want to comment on rest of the points you mentioned about Indians because those are your perceptions and neither all of them are right nor all of them are wrong..

This is oft repeated myth my dear brother that Pakistanis do not pay taxes.

Sure you may be OK pointing out the issue with income tax collection. But remember we are not taxed on income only.

Every ******** thing in Pakistan is taxed. There is petrol tax, bijli tax, paani tax, property tax, gas tax, khana tax and the list goes on. If you are a farmer, then there are 6 different taxes that you have to pay.

All these taxes and their collectors have become a giant monster ripping people away from their hard earned money.

So when you look at tax revenues, do not become myopic and repeat ad nauseam income tax income tax.

Look at the total picture first.

So tax reforms yes. for sure.

But tax reforms should not be focused on income tax only.

peace.

p.s. As I have said, land reforms is a commie idea. Why don't you use the same logic and snatch Tata nano factory and split it among the workers? they will all be rich and pay more taxes. NOT!

Desi commies and their sympathizers only want to snatch lands while nothing they want to say about large factory owners.

.... powerful Zamindars who used to have private armies.. These issues still exists in Pakistan ......

This is true for Bihar and other BIMARU states of India.

For Pakistan, the big landlords are no angels. But private armies???????? Just wake up brother just wake up and smell the coffee.

If you know more than I do, then please go ahead and list some of the major landlords in Pakistan and their private army structure, the subedars, the majors, the captains. etc. etc.

Thank you.

Read this about tax collections in Pakistan --> Tax-to-GDP ratio at 8.58 percent in FY11 - thenews.com.pk

In case of India, Tax to GDP stands at around 18 %. This is when there is heavy tax evasions in India as well..

Land reforms --> I am not talking about snatching anything mate.. I am talking about people who have hereditary acquired the Zamindari from the times of Britishers.. They had a role to play back then but not now.. More over the Industrialists you are talking about actually help contribute more to both Income tax collections as well as GDP. So it make no sense to talk about them..

When I said they own a private armies, I didn't meant thy got something on the lines of modern armies.. I have heard a lot about Balochi landlords holding private armies (don't think they have any established structure though) .. Correct me if I am wrong, Don't they oppose Pakistan govt in pretty much every activity in the areas held historically by them.. Why do you think your Fata region is lawless? My understanding is, there are few who got strong-hold in the region and thus exploiting the situation.. I think from Pakistani POV situation will improve if those strongholds, who generally are big powerful landlords, are taken care of..

If you say all this is a myth, then I don't have anything else to add..

Well I like that you have come around to see the total picture and not just the income tax. That's good.

At the moment Sarkari babboon babboos of the FBR should be all fired. Instead we need to have a NADRA like organization filled with young college graduate kids with pant shirt and ties taking care of the tax collection.

Our business community has begged so many times that Feds not harass them. Instead the Federal government should announce the expenses and the business community will collect it for them.

Instead the babboons behave like gods and treat fellow Pakistanis as petty criminals.

So yes the tax reforms are badly needed. Many of the taxes should be abolished. namely the petrol and bijli tax should be taken off.

Streamlining is the key and so is the institution of new "contribution/chanda department".

Land reforms --> I am not talking about snatching anything mate.. I am talking about people hereditary acquired the Zamindari from the times of Britishers..

In Desi lands, everything is hereditary. Brahmins are hereditary and dalits are hereditary and so are Tatas and Mittles.

Many of the old Industrialists in India were the biggest pro-British folks. So we should snatch their factories too?

peace to you my brother peace.

As I said my dear brother you are confusing Bihar with Pakistan. That's no good. The two regions may be in south Asia but they are 100's if not 1000's of miles apart in culture and habits.

No we do not have Runbeer Sena, Lallu Sena, or other senas.

What you talk over here is Balcoh landlords are infact Baloch TRIBES. And the tribal people in Pakistan carry weapons since the time of British. Nothing new.

But land reforms will not end tribes. land reforms will only hit the big land holdings in Punjab and Sindh where individual families and not tribes own parcels of land.

Please do not confuse tribal areas with settled land owners.

One is wild animal and the other is domesticated just like the domesticated industrialists.

Wild animals kill. It is their nature.

Domesticated animals give milk. So you don't have to kill them, especially not in the name of land reforms because they aint they are just commie name for land snatching.

Hope you got the point.

Thank you my brother for listening and caring and loving the Pakistani cousins from across the border.

Thank you.

Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh made a successful weeklong trip to the United States, convincing the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK) and international monetary organizations to give Pakistan as much as $5.27 billion over the next four-year term.

He asserted, “Britain will spend over $2.25 billion over the next four years, primarily in the field of education”.
He also highlighted the growing number of remittances, a higher growth rate and growing exports as signs of progress in the country’s economy, saying that the increasing oil prices may impact Pakistani exports in the coming days.
The minister noted, “Overseas Pakistanis posing confidence in Pakistan will send $ 13.5 billion this year, reflecting a 21 per cent increase from last year’s $ 11.2 billion”.
In his view, Pakistan’s policies are yielding outcomes despite increasing international oil prices and uncertain global economic situation, saying that the national economy was now on the path to stability and growth.
Sheikh recounted a host of positive indicators including six per cent expansion in exports, which follow a 30 per cent increase in exports last year, and a jump of 25 per cent in revenue collection in the past nine months from

You just forgot to mention that after the separation of Pakistan from India, the latter kept all the Money and Pakistan didn't get its share.
You Insult Islam gratuitously and say PEACE! Its the most defamatory form of hypocrisy anyone can imagine.
