It's not about it being bad or good. It's about why you thought they have this problem and we don't. The media highlights this issue when it comes to India but does not cover it for Pakistan so perhaps that's why you didn't know.

I was answering him in a sense he would understand. The media will highlight this issue when some friends of those in power figure out a scheme of making money out of toilet constructions like they are doing it now with electric prepaid meters and housing scam i mean scheme.

You were trying to pretend we are superior to Indians in this respect. Yet we are not. Our human development stats are worse on account of the fact that we funnel all the money into defense and don't spend enough on education and health.

That is hysteria. Pakistanis on average lead a better life than Indians.

Ask the government to invest the incoming finance towards education and agriculture.

This is not true. Take the following for example:

Literacy rate - 57% vs. 74%
Child mortality rate - 74.90 per thousand vs. 39.4 per thousand
GDP per capita - $1548 vs. $1940

The gap is widening which is why even the Pak army complained about the poor economic growth. They know that they can't keep up even with the disproportionate defense spending.

So why dont you redo your calculations to get a scale of the problem.

These numbers are relative to population and they are not my calculation. They are based on GoP and GoI surveys! Besides it should be easier for a smaller country to educate its populace and provide them with the necessary services.

I am not denying that Education has not been our priority for a good 30 years. We are teaching the kids the same thing we taught their parents 40 years ago.

Lets just hope someone in the government cracks the code of making money out of education and bring some much needed attention. Ofcourse the loot will be a nuisance but atleast the kids will get education

So update on the thread is that Saudis did end up helping and so did the Chinese.

But the government will still go to IMF and now will anyone criticize the government or Imran Khan too demagogue a figure in Pakistan?
