guys , i've posted the link of paf patches thread , on my last post on the first page--- we are not interested in exercise patches or alternate patches here

plz look at the table i posted in the first post , if you have any better resolution pic or a patch pic which is left blank in the first post , kindly post them , so it becomes easier to include them when we make a complete post at the end!!

note

some pakistani sites maybe copyrited so kindly post the link , to show they are western foriegn sources

sorry, i though that what you have also posted, i filled in for the remaining!!
anyway, have deleted the onw with badges from exercises as you said!

now, do you want me to post higher resolution images of all squadron badges or what?

i have official badges of all squadrons.

Assalam u Alaikum Haroon.

Really nice work, but you just blew the work I have been doing on this topic!
I have been doing this re-search on the List of Squadron's, their nicks, list or Aircrafts used and location.

Was compiling it on my PC when you posted this. Ufh. Tough competition being like you ;) :P
Nevertheless, I know how it was compiling, and it's great. :)

@ arsalan ,
about half of the slots on my first posts are deficient in badges -- ive provided bezerk's threads links , which might fill in some of this blank sposts particularly in army aviation ---- however we will have to ask najam if we can use his images from paf wallpapers , granted we cant find any other source

these are also available at:
http://www.defence.pk/forums/military-photos-multimedia/100597-paf-patches.html

since there is already a thread running, i wont be posting anymore!

arsalan , ^ this is copyrited -- i think the last 3 posts i did cover most of the paf representations and that size is okay aswell considering table form for the content -- moreover if we go for very high resolution images , it will be very difficult to find them for each and every unit for uniformity sake... -- also they dont have watermarks.

army aviation representations are needed , some might be covered via bezerks threads

On a special request by Sir Fatman17, I'm sharing a couple of Pakistan Army Aviation patches with you all. I uploaded them in the gallery some time back and I've decided to share them with you all

--------------------------------
Pakistan Army Aviation brevets have wreath/star indicating flying experience.

The brevet was designed by Mrs. S. Bano in 1956. The flying wing and red eagle reflects vigilance. The red and blue colors signify artillery colors to which AirOp belonged. The black background signifies the black flag which our Muslim ancestors carried in battle.

The wreath and star were added by Maj. MK Sagheer in 1974 to signify 3000+ accident free flying hours, this addition was officially approved by GHQ in early 80's (today's qualification for this distinction is unknown).

aabrevet.jpg

The Pakistan Army Aviation School crest was designed in the mid-60's. The mandate of the school to provide fixed and rotary wing training to its students. The original primary training aircraft were the L-19 and OH-13s, and the Alouette III for advanced training. Today the school uses the Mushak and Schweizer.

The motto"Knowledge is Strength" signifies a pilot's dedication to continuous learning.

The crest/motto was designed by: Maj. MK Sagheer

The original squadron crest of No. 4 Army Aviation Squadron from 1970's era. The Mi-8's were retired from service in the late 80's. The squadron currently flies Mi-17's.

The word "Gallant" was added after the 1971 war to indicate the "awe-inspiring" performance of this squadron's pilots during the 1971 war in then East Pakistan.

No. 4 Squadron has the distinct honor of being the only serving unit in East Pakistan not to have surrendered on Dec. 16, 1971. The squadron flew Alouette 3's and Mi-8's in East Pakistan.

The crest was originally conceived by Col. LA Bokhari and the example shown was finalized by Maj. MK

The original squadron crest of No. 3 Army Aviation Squadron. This crest is from the mid-60's when the squadron was first raised, at the time 3 Squadron flew OH-13s, in 1968 they converted to Alouette III's. The Squadron was raised in 1963-64 era by then Col. NUK Babar.

No. 1 Squadron 'Rahbars'

I think the "s" to make it a plural is an error - Rahbar, meaning Leader - Rahbaran, plural, leaders

I think the "s" to make it a plural is an error - Rahbar, meaning Leader - Rahbaran, plural, leaders

i also noted this...:P
however i think the name is more to asthetics value then to gramatical importance!!
that justifies the "S"!!

regards!

hi ! this is an initial template layout that i liked [link at end] and i hope that we can make an upgraded post based on inputs from senior members and some software professionals
regards

Don't you think that there should be separate thread over Pakistan (Civil) Aviation & history and let this thread dedicated to Pakistan Airforce & history?
