Pakistan Army troops have rescued over 1200 flood affectees to safer places through MI-17 and boats at Naseeraabad and surrounding areas in last two days.

Pakistan Army has employed 860 troops, 6 Army Aviation Helicopters, 60 Motor Boats, 12 Dewatering Pumps and Engineers equipment for rescue and relief activities at flash flood affected areas of Dera Ghazi Khan,Sukkur, Larkana, Kandhkot, Kashmore, Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi, Dera Murad Jamali and Nasirabad. The Army troops were immediately moved to flood affected areas on request of Civil Administration.

Army Engineers have plugged six breaches at Dera Ghazi Khan. 200 tents and 20,000 dry food packets have been distributed at Naseeraabad and adjacent areas of Dera Murad Jamali through 6 sorties of MI-17 today.


Cooked food was also provided to over 5000 affectees in Dera Murad Jamali, Rajanpur and Rojhan.

QUETTA: Following hill ******** and flash floods, nine districts including Jaffarabad and Naseerabad in Balochistan province have been declared calamity hit, DawnNews reported.

Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps (FC) have launched joint rescue and relief operation for the calamity victims.

Meanwhile, data compiled by the provincial government shows that about 14 people have died, twelve were injured, as many as 7,361 people affected, crops on 3357 acres of land destroyed while 1227 houses were completely damaged and 1439 were partially damaged.

Gigi Dam in district Sibi has caused huge losses in Nasirabad after flash floods reached Dera Murad Jamali main bazaar and other areas.

The Balochistan government has sought the help of Army and FC to rescue the rain-victims in Naseerabad district, APP reported

On the directives of Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani, the provincial government asked the Commander Southern Command to provide helicopters and boats to help the trapped masses and shift them to safer places.

Balochistan focal person on floods and Secretary Information Technology Akbar Hussain Durrani said that 11 district including Qilla Saifullah, Lorali, Zhob, Shirani Musa Khail, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Dera Bugti, Sibi and Lasbella were badly affected by flash floods and heavy downpour.

Durrani said that restoration of damaged portion of roads was government’s top priority.

He added that Quetta-Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan Road and Quetta-Lorali-Dera Ghazi Khan Road linking Balochistan with Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa has been restored while work is underway on the Och National Highway Road in Notal to restore road that connects Balochistan with Sindh.

Dispelling the impression about the lack of preparedness and failed strategy of the provincial government to avoid losses after the bad experience of 2010 floods in Balochistan, he said that it was precautionary measures and prudent strategy has averted huge losses in recent spate of unprecedented rains in Balochistan.

Relief and Rescue operations contiued by Pakistan Army troops in flood affected areas of Southern Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.

Pakistan Army has employed over 1000 troops to rescue the flood affectees and de-water the flash flood areas of Dera Ghazi Khan, Jampur, Rajanpur, Rojhan, Kandkot, Jacobabad, Ghotki and Dera Murad Jamali. Army troops have rescued over 3681 flood affectees to safer places through MI-17 and boats at native areas of Kashmore, Badani, village Raees Atta Ullah Bhutto, Meva Khan,Kot Omer Bhutto, Bakhsha Pur,Jampur, Rajanpur, Rojhan and Dera Murad Jamali.

Army Engineers have plugged the breach, which occurred at Pat Feeder Canal at Dera Murad Jamali. Army Aviation has dropped 1000 ration packs in areas around Rojhan and Rajanpur.

Army has established a mobile field hospital at Dera Murad Jamali to treat distress brethren.

Air Chief visits Jacobabad flood affected areas


Islamabad—Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force on Thursday visited the flood affected areas of Jacobabad District.

Earlier, the Air Chief was briefed at PAF Base Shahbaz by the Base Commander about the flood relief activities being planned by PAF in different parts of Jacobabad District.

While talking to the field Commanders, he appreciated their work and advised them to make all out efforts to fully support the affected people in the best possible manner and to look after their needs.

On the instructions of CAS, PAF Disaster Management Cells have already been activated at Air Headquarters, Southern Air Command and a few PAF Bases.—Online

The PAF Disaster Management System is fully integrated with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs) and Joint Staff Crises Management Center (JSCMC).

PAF's Air Transport and Helicopter Fleets are also standing by to undertake relief sorties whenever required by NDMA.

Relief and Rescue operations contiued by Pakistan Army troops in flood affected areas of Sindh and Balochistan.
Pakistan Army has employed 1200 troops to rescue the flood affectees in Kandkot, Naseerabad/Jacobabad and Dera Murad Jamali. Army troops have rescued over 4305 flood affectees to safer places in flood affected areas of Sindh and Balochistan. Army Aviation has employed


6 Helicopters in rescue and relief activities.

Army troops rescued 2500 people from the flood affected areas of district Jacobabad, Tehsil Thul and surrounding areas of Baho Khoso. With the help of civil adminstration of District Jacobabad Army has established a Tent village, in which cooked food, mineral water and medicines have been provided to the flood affected people.

Pakistan Army has distributed 22 ton rations and 500 packs of dry ration at Dera Murad Jamali and Loralai. Army has established a mobile field hospital at Dera Murad Jamali and treated 1200 patients.
